+1 for self education and knowing when to buy. If I can't see it myself I won't buy it. I like to play (its my $ and my hobby), not be benched ;)

Pic problem Rob.

Sorry if it isn’t showing up, I will try again now, Beckett said unlikely to pass full authentication

Still trying to figure out the goal of this. What is the destination?

Not that difficult really, I’m basically trying to understand the authentication process and why some “experts “ have totally different opinions, the next step is for me is to try and  decipher what are the pluses and what are the negatives of the signatures, and in that process I can hopefully make better judgments on my own without the help of others,  I need to head out now but there are more reasons why I’m doing this that I will explain later tonight

thanks

rob

I would not assume everyone is authenticating in the same manner. When I showed XXXX (not a common name here at this venue) what I do and how, he had no idea what I was talking about or why I would do what I do, and he is a very respected auction house authenticator. My response to his query contained no words at all - just 2 opposing scans that show what and why I do what I do. I did not even use color. He "converted" immediately. I applaud seeking the authentication methods of others, but in the context of creating your own approach, which it seems you are. :)

Best,

Eric

Hi again Rob,

In the future you might find this of value when evaluating authentic autographs against each other:

Beckett vs. Perry Cox. Hmmmmm....

If I send a raw original Proof Walking Liberty 50C to PCGS for grading and then crack it out and send it to NGC I already know they will likely differ in grade and perhaps in what direction as well. This does not help ME grade Proof Walkers at all. All I would learn, after paying the fees and shipping, is what is market acceptable - and that is rarely acceptable to me. Just my .02 cents.

Perry issued the COA on 11/26/02, saying that it was signed on 10/29/02 at the Sky Harbor Airport after the Phoenix, AZ concert. It was sold through Gotta Have Rock and Roll auctions last April for $1K plus buyer’s premium.
