Hi everyone,

I won an Ebay auction for an Avengers Endgame signed poster. I found this website after I won it and now believe this is fake. Can anyone help me, please? Link to auction is below (i did not pay the shown amount for it). Please tell me if the link is not working

Which he did one time sign with; sorta'.  It's not just the figure 8. It's what should come next after the/along with the figure 8. This one is a mess. Like piecing together a ransom note from different font, different sized letters clipped from a magazine. And the handwriting of the forger for the Stan Lee is also present in a number of other signatures here, a number of them signed in rapid succession. That's the forger's handwriting, his erroneous rendition, that's why it's not shaky, it's just wrong. All wrong. But that's the way he practiced it. His one size fits all Stan Lee.

What's really ironic is that I see just about the same care, same attention to detail by forgers (very little) on cheapo Stan Lee items as on these multi-thousand dollar pieces. You'd think that the more they're trying to steal, the more attentive to detail they would be.

The seller seems to be consigning their items.  Either that, or they are purchasing them for immediate resale.  Justin, they should be just as interested as you are to be absolutely certain that the autographs they are selling are authentic.  If they are unsure as well, they should have no problem allowing you to return the item.  If they disagree, they should provide you with some reputable assurance that the autographs are authentic to ease your mind.

I have not gotten a response in regards to me getting my money back, but I did ask more questions earlier today and got some long responses. I can send them to you if interested

Please post them if you like, Justin. As long as you filed a complaint with eBay for a refund, you'll be fine.

... I know exactly where your coming from. There were countless fakes reproduced from the very few originals, and were blasted left and rightbfor thousands ofndollars that all started at $.99 cent auctions.

This was a charity auction, we started our listing at $999 to $1499, it has original holograms near impossible to replicate, and if it wasnt authentic it would have been pulled down already.

We had the same issues with the Infinity War until we posted exact proof, those threads are usually filled with "opinions" of marvel nerds who troll all day long, who cannot afford a $3500+ poster.

Any poster that started at a $.99 cent auction, before or right around the premiere, are not deemed authentic, let alone were never listed for charity. We have been in business since 2001 with perfect feedback, worldwide and everything is documented.

Ebay has very strict policies on autographed items and we have always complied with them... the posters you see, we have seen all 10 different ones from random sellers, no feedback, 24 hour auctions bc of the fan craze... the only legit ones are the ones still listed for $3K+ months after the premiere.

Those sellers who bought into the craze, got burned, by nonreputable sellers, and started online threads bashing all posters, including original studio ones that sold for 5 to 10K... who would spend that much on forged item.

We can send you screen shots tonight, of the ONLY one or two exact posters that sold for up to $10K+ bc they were the only original ones posted. We are not here to burn anyone... our feedback and product stands at 100% and have never had an issue, especially listing an item for charity purposes.

We can send you threads from FBI investigations on 3rd party authentications, fake Michael Jordans, Babe Ruths, all from the autograph forums where the items were passed but are bashed and deemed unauthentic... its all opinions, none of it is fact.

Any fake item, belongs in the trash, period

"I hate trolls."

Justin, if you are still interested in the item, ask for documentation of the provenance of the item in question.  Otherwise, there is no reason to respond.  Simply resolve the matter through eBay.  Best of luck.

Thanks, Mike. They said they would send me exact documentation tonight, but I trust the people in this thread. I appreciate everyone's assistance.

Arguing with the seller is a waste of time, the item is fake. File your case with ebay and paypal to get your money back. No need to waste brain cells.

This. The ink speaks for itself.

Mike T, are you aware of any true originals that were produced?  The seller seems to have been told that there were.  Justin, did the seller tell you what charity the auction was for?  Unfortunately, charity auctions are not always authentic.

It is for make a wish. It is stated on the Ebay auction. But I now believe anyone can set it up for a benefit auction to only make people think its authentic

This is correct. On the seller's listing page, a seller listing an item can choose which charity to benefit from the sale and what % of the sale shall be forwarded to that charity. A seller does not have to have permission from that charitable organization, nor a personal or business relationship with them. The association is simply choosing to donate a % of the sale price of the item to that chosen charity, the rest of it facilitated by ebay. Once the seller specifies the details, all options chosen from the listing page, the rest is automatic. Doesn't necessarily mean there's any connection between the charity and the seller, ebay being the common connection.

And although one would like to hope that nobody would stoop so low as to donate fake material for sale by a charity, sadly, I've seen just about the same proportion of fraudulent to genuine stuff donated to charity, as anywhere else in the non-charity marketplace.
