Decided to start a new thread... Local memorabilia shop confirmed live ink and we removed it from the frame. It was processed in the mail in 1937 based on the reverse side. Took a few more photos before we packaged it up for JSA

the shop owner who’s been doing this for 40 years. “I strongly believe you got lucky as hell.”

Who needs convincing here? Me or you? I admit the honus is on you to show it real but...I gave up some time ago. I don't think it is authentic for the reasons stated, and it certainly appears to raise enough eyebrows from others that I would pass anyway.

And I respect your opinion. I’m not trying to convince you. Just having a discussion about Simon and Koschal now and their reputation, Ruth piece aside.

I don’t know why every reply has to be misconstrued

"...I don’t know why every reply has to be misconstrued ..."

Never my intention. Send me a PM.

I did not say that I thought it was real.

To quote Milos Forman "It must be real!". Good luck with it.

"...if JSA returns it as authentic I will feel good that piece is authentic because the majority of people I have consulted agree...."

This makes very little sense to me. If I trusted myself, and/or the majority of people why send it in? A sticker? Peace of what - mind? $350 plus what? To me, craziness.

I agree $350+ to authenticate one autograph is crazy.  I have a Ruth PSA’d from 2005.  Some people say you should update the LOA to 2019, but for nearly $400, I don’t think so.

Not only that, but I’ve already had a couple of highly-thought-of Ruth people here on AML who have given it their thumbs up.

I agree, James. There's no need for a new LOA or COA for anything unless you need it to sell for a strong market price.

+1

I wonder if PSA would give you a break on price for an updated LOA.

Not that I'm aware of but you can ask when the time comes. None of the services used to negotiate on fees, except perhaps with big customers, but it's a whole different world today.

Hi James,

I meant trying to get a consensus between friend/others and a TPA or two. Who cares.

Hi, Eric.  I see.  What you say makes complete sense because a TPA’s opinion is just another opinion.  And if you have confidence in your own due diligence and the thoughts of your friends, why not go with that?  As I’ve often said, the opinion of members here carry more weight with me than any of the TPAs.  AML is the best TPA there is...and it’s free!
