I am so sad that my boyhood hero, my favorite athlete of all-time passed away today at age 85. If you grew up in the Detroit area, everybody loved KALINE. I wore his #6 on every baseball team I played on my entire life, it was a priority for me. Had the opportunity to meet him several times in+lauding the first time when I was about 5 years old, sitting in box seats at Tiger Stadium with my dad. As the players were going to their positions and coming in. The bat, I was waving to all the players. Kaline was the only person who walked over to say hi to me. There are not many left from his era, a huge loss for Michigan sports fans, and baseball fans everywhere.

As classy as they come, never heard anyone say a bad word about him. He was a superstar that had no idea he was.
Yep. He always hit well against the Yankees.
