I can read a lot of complaints here about signed item received unsigned, signed LP actually signed on a crappy sheet of paper, and so on. I myself have experienced this more than enough... But I must say that those complaints are a bit boring in the end: getting 50 messages per day explaining that Lady Gaga's recent signed art card is not real tends to be tedious, to say the least. If you think that Lady Gaga is going to sign 100 000 art cards (probably twice as much actually), then maybe you need to grow up...

For once, let me tell a "nice" story.

I was, like many here, a victim of Pledge last year. In particular and among other pledges, I had subscribed in January 2019 to Cat Stevens' signed deluxe Back to Earth box (around £260 if I remember well). This project was withdrawn quickly after for obvious reasons and I lost the 260 quid when Pledge went bankrupt around July 2019.

But Cat Stevens issued elsewhere another signed deluxe Back to Earth box slightly different from the project at Pledge, which I did NOT buy (first because I could not afford it a second time without divorcing, second because it was quickly sold out...).

And... I received today the box (5 CD, 2 LP, 1 BR !) with a tee-shirt and a SIGNED poster ! Now an honest artist would have sent a CD, at best a signed LP. To me, sending the whole box with the signed item (and the tee!) really shows that Cat Stevens (and his management) cares about fans !

Made my day !  Thanks Yusuf !!!

I agree chains like the Lady Gaga one are getting ridiculous. Honestly this is a nice refreshing anecdote and I’m so glad to hear you still got the signed item, albeit delayed. Thanks so much for sharing

Telling a nice story with a preface of telling people to grow up for talking about autographs on an autograph forum is pretty ironic... Isn't that why this section was split into different discussions? So if you don't want to read 50 comments about Lady Gaga fake autographs you don't have to? Not hard to skip by things you don't want to read or subscribe to...

But thumbs up on the Cat Stevens autograph.

Well, I'm interested in principle in all that is written in the discussion so I cannot skip. And 211 posts for the Lady Gaga issue (including more than 30 by you...) is not what can be expected from a forum about artists selling signed items (if we had 200 messages for each thread, we would get thousand of mails everyday !). 80% of these posts at least were more teenagers' complaints than information for the autograph collector.

Thats great about cat stevens but dont be telling people on here to grow up??? ! Its each person to their own taste ! If you received an autopenned or ghost signed cat stevens youd be the the first to complain no doubt  !!!!!!

Yup, and I enjoyed the time I spent on the 30 messages I posted... Nice discussing autographs back and forth with other collectors. Whether it's complaining together, and get your frustration out with some other frustrated collectors... or telling a story about how nice the autograph you got is... Pretty sure that's what this forum is for, talking about autographs, good or bad...

And telling autograph collectors to grow up is something I hear all the time from people who don't understand autograph collecting. I've heard plenty of times I should grow up, a grown man collecting autograph pictures of random people is creepy,  shouldn't you have grown out of that by now?  Stuck me as funny to hear that from a fellow autograph collector, on a post about being nice and respectful, and on a forum about a hobby many people think is childish to begin with.

Maybe start another post for updates on the autographs only and request no small talk, instead of insulting anyone using an autograph forum to talk about autographs.

I guess we should make a limit of how many posts or people can talk about a topic before it is labeled childish and ridiculous.

This is definitely the place for open and free discussions of autographs and all that entails.

I to was a victim of Pledge, L7 the grunge band looked after their fans. L7 had a fundraiser to take care of everyone who ordered, while other artist on the platform lost money and didn't do anything for fans who ordered , so I lost respect for those artist.

I laugh at the pre orders these days where people expect to recieve an authentic autograph from huge artist , at least you've helped the artist to get to No 1 on the charts. You never here anyone say they can't wait to hear the album , it's that t they've been stiffed on the 4 albums they purchased.
