Looney Tunes CD Store - Taking/Selling signed inventory intended for fans

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum

A while back, I posted about an ebay seller known as 'penonpapercollections' who had listed 3 different Paul McCartney signed lithographs which he cliamed to have won in the Looney Tunes 2018 'Random Drawing' contest. (He obtained 3 of the initial 11 McCartneys that were given away which were then sold on his ebay account.)  Well, it looks like he decided to do the exact same thing with the Taylor Swift CD's.  If you check his ebay, he has sold 9 Taylor Swift signed CD's in the past few days with another currently listed.  I decided to reach out and ask where he was able to get them, and of course his response was Looney Tunes!

did they sell any signed Ace Frehley cd's too?

Have you reached out to the store owner on this?

Honestly. My guess is that it is the store owner

Exactly, that is almost 100% store owner. Photos of Macca lithos were taken on the very same black sofa that is shown in his in-store videos. I wonder if anyone reported this guy as it seems he's just making big $$ on all those artist promotions.

karl or jamie are the store owners there or it could be an employee or someone doing it for the owners

Are the stores required to offer the autographed items to the public in any particular way?  Are they not allowed to sell them on eBay?  I am not familiar with how this is expected to work.

I know that the Taylor cds were delivered to stores for free so that they could specifically be sold in store only to people. My local record shop didn't order any of her cds at all and a box of 30 just showed up on their door last week (i sadly missed out). So it is super crappy of Looney Tunes to be flipping them online instead. I'm sure nothing is legally making them sell them in store but I hope it gets back to the artists and distributors so that they get screwed out of these things in the future.

I just searched and found their facebook page where they posted this:

"WOW!!!! Look what we got in today!!! 90 MORE AUTOGRAPHED

Taylor Swift CDs. First come first serve!!!! WOW!!!! #recordstorefolklore As per the rules of the record label. NO SHIPPING on orders. In store pick up only. This will not be on our website for purchase. If you want one please come down to store to pick one up! THANKS!"

I don't really use social media much but i hope someone calls them out about this.

it doesn’t make sense to me to give the signed copies to the stores. so many stores sell them so why not just give them to people to join the fan club so you know that the real fans get them or just offer them to buy in the artist website. doesn’t make sense to me that artists don’t just sign their albums if you buy it. they would sell more albums that way too. it’s a quick scribble and they make more sales that way. i just don’t get it or think i ever will. it would help to get the forgeries out of the industry too if people just had more access to get signed stuff. the artist is getting paid for it. makes sense to me
