How does one go about discovering someone named Hans Bakker is an Elvis forger?
Has Hans Bakker been arrested? Is he still producing forgeries?
Just curious...
If only we could get someone to spill the beans on the mass produced sports forgeries. Someone MUST know! So frustrating...

Arresting autograph forgers or sellers of forgeries has rarely been a priority. That's changing in some places, like the UK and now the US, but still rare most places.
As for spilling the beans on mass produced music forgeries (not sports), that's been done.
Jerry Gladstone of American Royal Arts (now www.PopCultureVault.com) called me in May 2010 to THANK ME for discovering the fake signing photos we found that were exposed on NBC News 20/20 and Inside Edition.
He told me he was duped by his suppliers: "I'm a victim, too!" He told me who was involved (we already knew) and offered to open up all of his files to us and to be interviewed for Autograph.
What did he want in return? He wanted us to stop writing about him on our websites and take negative things about him down. Why? Because he needed to give his customers refunds for the forgeries he unknowingly sold them from his suppliers, and the articles and blogs about him on our sites were driving him out of business.
If anyone doubts this, I have the phone records that show he called me out of the blue mid-May of 2010.

He said it was because I was hurting his business.
Can you believe he thought it was a reasonable answer?

Interesting comparison of the two. There's got to be a lot of genuine material from his years in Germany but there's so much junk too. Everyone thinking about spending the money to buy a genuine Elvis should do their research first and make sure they're comfortable with what they purchase.

This will be really interesting. I think yours has a ton of qualities a genuine Elvis has, and I think the go-to people will think it's good. But I don't feel completely comfortable for some reason. I'm not even sure why.

Steve, that is what makes this hobby so interesting. Unless you get the autograph in person, do we ever really know for sure? I studied Elvis for many years before I bought this one, I feel pretty good about it.
