Ben the fact that you were about to bid on these is very worrying (for you). These are some of the worst forgeries I've ever seen. I would suggest you stay away from cheap forgeries from suspect auction houses. Stick to stuff with LOAs from Frank Caiazzo, Perry Cox, Roger Epperson, PSA, Beckett, JSA. If real this would be worth several thousand dollars or more. You get what you pay for.
+1 I felt the same way. To me, the purchase of an autograph is the very last step. Education is key - and dedication.
Ben - your decision (to check here) reveals you're becoming a more sophisticated buyer. Congrats for quizzing the forum, listening to their responses - and acting accordingly. The amount of heartbreak and money you've saved is invaluable.
