Steiner Sports sez, "Give us your email or don't come in"

As some of you may know, Steiner Sports has a splash page that requires you to enter your email address before you can enter the site. EVEN if you already are on their email list, you need to keep entering your email address every time you want to browse the site.

This splash page isn't always there, but it often is.

Is it me, or is this really obnoxious? It's even worse than Radio Shack asking you for your phone number everytime you want to buy a battery.

LOL...sad but true...even on your phone internet....so sick...and for what ?...Steiner is ready to price Gauge the s*** out of Mariano Rivera when he breaks that record this or next week....corporate monster = winning...LOL
No.  They conveniently placed an ad after the game on YES and they are selling signed balls with the 602 logo on them for $199.  I dont understand how he is that cheap while Teixeira balls are listed for $400.  Something's up there.

Supply and demand.

Obviously MO signs a LOT more than Texeira. It's probably written into the Steiner contract how much he will sign per year. While $199 isn't a bargain, it really isn't a bad price. I applaud Mariano for making himself somewhat affordable for most fans.

I agree with my man Mr.Zipper...although 200 is a decent amount of cash its worth every penny...if you meet him in person his prices are slightly cheaper...for the caliber of player Rivera is that price is not all that bad...a shoe in for the hall and what may possibly be an unbreakable saves record when its all said and done and being a 5 time World Series champion and a WS MVP in 99....unless you were at todays game...a 602 autographed piece is a rediculous purchase to me.....now a Steiner Jeter will run close to 500 and that to me is plain rediculous...a great player YES...he shouldn't be more then 350 in reality....I was at his 3000 hit game and Steiner had some super high priced items running into the 4 digits one some items...but hey that's Steiner for you....price gauging at its finest...

Mariano used to be very accessible. He'd do 2 or 3 shows a year and was reasonably priced -- even at the height of the Yankees winning multiple World Series at the end of the 90s.

Since Steiner got their "exclusive deal" hooks into him, how many shows has he done?

Not sure...he may be the one Yankee I have actually went to meet over the years more then an other Yankee at shows since the first time I met him in 99...he is always around and definitely a decent price and always a great experience...I would say he does maybe 2 or 3 public signings and about 4 private signings a year with Steiner for drop off or pick up items...its almost always right after baseball season and before Christmas I have always noticed...and then right before baseball season or the first or second week during the season and one in mid summer usually...
I reply with a@a.ab to that message. :D
Steiner can shove it.  I'll continue to get my sports items from better sources - Radtke, MM, Denver Autographs, Legends of the Field, etc, etc, etc . . .

By the way... has MO changed his signature again? Is he going for a MIckey Mantle look on the M? It will be interesting to see if he starts signing this way now...

hey Zipp...I have noticed when companies add a facsimile auto to any items this is the style they choose for MO...as you probably know most facsimile auto items almost always have changes in them that I have noticed over the years....I have never ever seen Mo sign in this fashion...I would imagine its to confuse the forgers...
just for you zipp....these are really sweat pieces....LOL !!!!!!
Yuck. :-)
