Seeking a bit of guidance on this Claude Rains SP.  It's later in life and appears to be signed in a blue fountain pen.  I'm assuming it's TTM.  Sorry, the scan isn't the best...but it's a provided one.

As always, thanks in advance for your input!

Bumping this because it got buried... classic film friends...

Definitely got buried, I didn’t see it earlier. Rains is probably one of the most difficult of the Casablanca cast. I attached an authentic example and I would say it looks pretty darn close. I would say it is authentic.

Etienne, After checking all my exemplars and items on the internet, your op seems to be in the ballpark.

I own an in-person signed album page which as auch looks different. As far as I know the R in the OP is unusual, but the rest looks good to me.

KaiMi, Does your AP "R" look like this one? This one is out of my Profiles in History 1994 catalog.

My piece is from Markus Brandes. The R looks more like a "d" and that's what I've seen on other pieces as well.

But never mind: Your piece looks good to me. The writing of the dedication fits and the "spirit" of the sig as a whole as well.

Thanks Nick, David and KaiMi......three names (amongst others) that I always appreciate hearing from when posing a question about vintage stars!

KaiMi your point is well taken about the "R" in Rains.  This might just be like the two versions of the Clark Gable "G".

Check this out from the 1940's:

Yes, certainly. If you as a star had to sign a contract or a beautiful big size photo you would be more careful than when signing on the street. That's what I'm certain that your signed photo is authentic.

Thanks, KaMi !

Etienne, here is another example. I know you are suspicious of these Spanish magazine autographs but I'd say this is real. I'd say your OP example is too, just later.

Hi eva -  Spanish magazine autographs?  Never heard of 'em....lol !

Seriously, yours does indeed look like the Rains I posted....and what a photo yours is!
