I know this is probably a fake, but figured I'd check in with everyone here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144374753272
I can't seem to get the certification number to come up on PSA/DNA, so Im sure its fake.
Maybe someone here has better news for me.
Thanks,
Dan

Danny,
I’m simply one of many members who give opinions here but I give mine when I have one that I feel is worth posting. You have 2 now, Ballroom’s and mine, and Ballroom is better than I am. But any of us can be wrong, and no one bats 1,000. Wait for more opinions and decide for yourself from there.
I hadn’t seen these before either. The other two you posted look good to me, so I think the one in the OP could very well be an oddly signed authentic example. Baseballs can be tough, and obviously helmets as well.
Are you leaning "likely authentic" on the OP?
I really appreciate your time and thank you greatly.
Dan
I’m not entirely confident about it, but I think it does have a decent chance after looking at the other two, which appear to be authentic.
Did PSA get back to you?
Not yet. It was holiday Monday in the US, so hopefully soon.
PSA/DNA says real and added the cert number to their database. Im assuming this removes any significant doubt around the item. Goes to show you never know what you can find on eBay.
FYI this item failed quick opinions on Beckett and PSA/DNA, only for PSA/DNA to review a second time and determine authenticity. Goes to show how much goes into quick opinions. They probably just say, "Paul McCartney :shrugs shoulders:, must be fake".
Overall I am extremely excited to add this to my personal collection. It is a truly unique piece, where one of the only other examples of the item resides in the American Football Hall of Fame. It's a good day.
Congratulations, DannyG. Sometimes taking a risk pays off big time!
Congrats! It's atypical of a real McCartney, which is why it failed PSA and BAS quick opinion, and my opinion and Ballroom's at first. You're paying $10-$15 for a quick opinion and that's what you get from them: a quick opinion. It's not full authentication and they make that clear.
Steve,
Thanks again.
I am extremely glad everything worked out!
Dan
