Hey!

I've just found this Thom Yorke signed photograph for a price that's relatively low (150€) for him. His is such a simple signature, so it's hard to tell the forgery from the real thing. What do you think? Authentic?

Thanks guys, as always!

I have a hard time with his signature on the open market. He's tough to authenticate.. i picked up a few of his Kid A Mnesia books around Christmas for less than this one.. but ive seen some forged books as well . They are easier to authenticate with the 2nd signature.

Here is my IP from 8/16/96 for comparison. Photo by Danny Clinch. Click for full image free of moire:

Are you set on getting him on a photo? I really believe the book is the best option other than getting him in person. I have a hard time trusting authenticated ones as well. The book still pops up on ebay for around $200 to $250 US from time to time. If you are willing to be patient

Not fond of the OP.

Yeah, I cant find any in person examples similar yet. Ive seen some authenticated ones that OPs has features that are similar.. but without seeing more known in-person examples. I can't trust authenticators on this. They can be wrong. Hopefully someone can post some more in-person examples which more closely resemble OP. As of now, im with Eric on this

First of all, thank you very much to both of you. Despite the fact that I have been looking for a Thom Yorke signature for a long time, you are right: his signature is not easy to authenticate and I do not want to take the risk; however, I wanted to know your opinion of experience. For the moment, following your advice, I think I'm going to pass on.

I think its a good call. Ill still try to keep an eye out. His autograph interests me. I stopped researching after adding a couple of the books I mentioned which satisfied my collection. If you want him, I really feel its best to get him soon. He could end up with signing habits like Paul McCartney. While I wouldnt consider him above Paul, there are so many people in his fanbase that treat him as a God, he can command any price for his autograph if he decided to go that route.

  • This is one that I got in person in 1995. I know it doesn’t look like the original post, just want to show how different his signature can be.
