I got Bono. Had to go to Fleabay for Elton.

Since we've seen this one pop up at Books-a-Million and one indie bookstore, I'm moving a whole lot more of my poker chips onto the Barnes and Noble Black Friday pile.

I wouldn't stop hunting the Indie stores in the meantime. I've been doing it and clearly that slot machine just hit.

I'm closest to Chicago as markets go.  And no B&N near me got the Grohl book at all on the Black Friday stock. Other markets got them.  So even if it's part of the sale there is no guarantee it'll be where you are.

I moved from Glendale Heights IL last year down south about a 4 hour drive. Same down here, I hit St Louis and Springfield stores without seeing any Grohl. I ended up only getting Ron Howard and Elvira.. There were a lot of Brian Baumgartner (which I regret passing on now after scoring both Rainn Wilson and the BFFs book) lots of Ai Weiwei and Copperfield autopens as well. I was really hoping to find more of the Carpenters Musical Legacy for my family or possibly a Natalie Portman but I really didn't expect them to be there anyways. Based on last year for this area, I doubt they will have Bono books available this year.

I still think everyone should continue to email Easons until we get an answer from them as to our signed status. I, for one, am not interested in getting an unsigned book.

I'd like to wade in on the Easons debate here. I'm from Dublin and Easons is one of, if not the longest running book shops in the country. In 06, U2 sat in Easons and signed hundreds of the U2 by U2 books. While I'm as in the dark as everyone else, it wouldn't surprise me if they send the books that have been ordered to Bono who will sign them. Despite what one poster said, Bono is a fantastic signer, always signed multiples for me.

Thanks Ger! I remain optimistic!

Thank you.  I was pointing out previously that Dublin is Bono's people and Easons is less than 1km away from where he's doing his Book appearance at the Olympia.  So there'd be an opportunity.

What I don't get is that the website said "While supplies last" and people want to repeatedly email them to badger them about their orders.  It's like buying a raffle ticket.  If you win you win.  But no need to constantly hassle hourly retail workers who are probably handling correspondence for the website. They are probably communicating what management is instructing.  Emailing them 3, 5, or 10 times probably won't change that.

No problem. Yeah they definitely handled the responses poorly, but one guy I spoke to said that while they never guarantee someone gets a signed book they do their best to fulfill every order.

Oblong Just cancelled my Bono Order and i think i was one of the first to order.... so good luck to everybody else that ordered off them.... Just wait for my BAM order to be cancelled now.....

That sucks.  Mine and my coworker's went from pending to preorder (which is a good thing). Kind of bummed that some people got it and some got the dreaded cancel email.  But there's still time. Gotta keep up the hunt.

My account was updated with the following on my order:

Thank you for your order! We will ship this as soon as the full order is ready.  You'll receive a tracking email from us once your order ships in November.

Yes that's exactly what happened to my order earlier today then they cancelled it a few hours later
