To Give you a better idea, here is an article that has an example of Dans autograph from 1977. The A was clockwise way back then.

Here's a closeup, bad quality
Great, thanks for the examples Jason! But he did add sayings to his signature though? That’s why I thought the Ramis was secretarial, you don’t normally see actors add anything apart from inscriptions.
Btw, with that last Aykroyd, the ‘a’ looks counterclockwise to me?
Not Counter clockwise. Its probably just hard to tell because of the quality from zooming in.
Ramis did not have crowds around him for autograph signings. People wernt in line for any that I know of. It was more like a group of people mingling around calmly. He signed inscriptions if you asked. I wanted him to specifically dedicate that photo to me, I told him how he was my idol and as a writer, he was my God. I wanted to make movies as well, went to college to study film.. ended up being a wedding videographer instead for about 7 years. Theres too much politics involved. You absolutely need connections.. anyways, I asked him after to dedicate the photo to me and he decided to write that inscription on his own.
It sounds like you had a unique and personal encounter with Ramis. The fact that he took the initiative to write a specific and meaningful inscription speaks to the authenticity of the moment. It's fascinating how personal connections with idols can leave a lasting impact, and in your case, his spontaneous dedication added a special touch to the interaction. It's also interesting to note your journey into film and the wedding videography field, highlighting the challenges and politics involved in the industry. Personal stories like these add depth to the appreciation of both the art and the artists behind it.
And here is a set I was lucky enough to find on ebay many years ago that I had authenticated by PSA. They could always be wrong on this one as well but there are many other examples out there that prove this was his common signature during that time.
Also, when he writes inscriptions or full page letters, his handwriting in general has always had this trait of using clockwise A's.
That one’s odd in that it has Bill Murray’s signature besides Chevy Chases’, but no Chevy signature??
The LP was supposedly signed in Mardi Grau 1977. The article I linked has examples where the signatures were signed using the same pens. I wasn't the one who had it signed so I can only speculate why he signed it near Chase's picture, but Chevy was no longer part of SNL at this time. Its possible Murray signed there since he technically was his replacement.. if they wanted the current cast members autographs, Murray had to sign somewhere.. Their fight didn't happen until 1978. Im sure Bill would never sign in that spot after their altercation. It definitely raises an eyebrow for people who don't know the exact timeline but they are real signatures.. I've devoted so much time researching this to be absolutely sure.
People begging for address, even though they are secretary. lol SMH
