I met her twice but she always cited arthritis and never signed for anyone. Once it was my job to arrange and handle a meet and greet for her - she called me "bright eyes" but never signed.

147  results on ebay for "maya angelou signed" - mostly books, I guess.

26 results for "autograph".

Neither figure is excessive for such a prominent figure

I believe both these are real after extensive comparisons. Lucky me.

Sorry to hear of your experiences, Eric.  Not as gracious as I would have expected - perhaps old age?

Thanks Findbooks. It was right after her poem for Clinton. She had a huge entourage. Biggest I have seen. But when I was seating her before the people entered she could have signed it if she wanted to (and was able to).
