Vivien Leigh?
HI,
I just came across this Vivien Leigh that I'm thinking about bidding on. I remember "Waterloo Bridge." I thought it was great.
Anyway, I thought I might get some opinions before I made that potentially fatal leap on this one. Anyone out there have any thoughts about it?

It just looks like a lot of ink for her. The scan is so overexposed and highly contrasted I won't say more than the form looks good, it appears authentic, but I can't read the ink at all and certainly not whatever is signed so I just say "no for me" as I don't feel I can really see it. Perhaps the scan or the way it appears but the stroke width is pretty even and that is unusual for her.

Thanks, Eric. The posted signature that I copied was small and not sharp. When I zoomed in, that is what I got, fuzzy and blurred. Seems to me that they would provide a sharp, crisp image for bidders who would possibly spend hundreds on the signature.
I love collecting. But it sure seems like this business needs some standards, and safeguards put in place to weed out the fraud and bad actors (criminals). That's just my opinion. Seems to me like there ought to be some sort of way to clean this industry up. It's a great hobby and industry. It just needs to cleaned up. There I go, ramblin again! Thanks.

Lights-Camera-ActionUK. They've sold thousands, and the they have a great eBay feedback rating. But I have a stack of fakes from dealers that have sold thousands and had good eBay ratings.
It's like you said earlier, it takes years to learn the art of autograph collecting. I didn't know how to collect when I first started. The shysters had my number. I think the need education is very important.
They have trade schools that teach people how to lay brick and be carpenters. I think there should be an online program that teaches people how to collect autographs. It's a multi-billion dollar industry. It seems like that would be a good thing.

Only buy from this seller if you are very confident about the signature you are interested in imo. I know another AML member who had issues with some of his stuff and I had an issue as well with an item I purchased

Hmm. The first thing I did was put the name in the search engine here (which is something that should always be done) and that led to a forgery. I then went to his eBay listing and saw many forgeries - E.G. Robinson. Elizabeth Taylor etc. AVOID!

Quite. Most of his stuff also sells well below its real price. He also wrote me a really outrageous email when I returned something as a fake through ebay

I don't have any respect for someone who tries to cheat an honest person out of their hard-earned money, not to mention the damage they do to the reputation of the autograph industry as a whole.
