This topic raises some very interesting questions, especially historically speaking.
Out of curiosity please:
1) Are there any presidents where there is simply no signatures left in existance (even by the government)?
2) Are there any presidents that their signatures are in existance, but not in the hands of any private collectors?
3) Is there any president who signature has never come up for any public sale, but is known to exist?

I never ever have given much thought to presidential signatures. I have J. Carter and R.Reagan's, but never given must thought to the history, quantity, or what a signature, from the 1700 & 1800's might actually be signed on. Wow, this is such an amazing topic (the more ya think about it).

To my limited knowledge, I have never know there to be any furor for a Franklin Pierce signature or Millard Fillmore signature. I guess there are those presidents who just don't create much excitement in the signature collecting world.

The answers to your questions are no, no, no. You can collect every president, but because William Henry Harrison caught pneumonia and died a month after his inauguration, his autograph as president is extremely rare and expensive. But you can buy a cut signature of his for $750 or less.

Thanks for the feedback on this subject. I love presidential trivia and facts, and since the subject of their signatures were discussed, it just adds more to my interest. Very interesting indeed...............

The other really short-term presidents were James A. Garfield, who was assassinated after about 6 months in office, and Zachary Taylor, who got sick and died less than a year and a half in office.

Their signatures are rare compared to other presidents, because they were in office such a short time. But like all presidents, they had to sign a lot, so it's demand that makes them so expensive.

You guys should by a Sanders Autograph Price Guide. For 16 bucks you get over 500 pages of valuable info.

I would think a mobile app for an iPhone would be produced by someone reputable in the community. It would update prices with each auction, the user would always have it on them when they are out and about (You never know when you might find a potential gem). 

I would pay $5 for this app, which is a lot for mobile apps, but it would be so handy and just fun to browse and keep up with the latest prices changes. You could sort by most recent sales, value, age, name, etc. and it could include photos of the items. 

I have had this idea for some time, but 1) it needs to come from a reputable source, just not some random guy with an idea, and 2) take someone with good programming skills. It needs to be clean and functional or else it will get terrible reviews and no one will use it.
