I don't think the slabbed one is good, frankly. The most obvious irregularity I see is that the D loop starts at the bottom, not the top.

In my experience what one seeks if often right around the corner  (sometimes after you buy!). I would count myself lucky and keep looking. The thrill is in the hunt!

It is disheartening to find an (authentic )signature that has been horrible mishandled over the years.

Looks like something I made in Kindergarten with Elmer's glue and paper for arts and crafts, I'd pass on the look of that alone, I don't know If it's for sale or if that's yours, only reason I'd keep it is if my kid made it.
