EAST OF EDEN cast signed softball - Including "James Dean autograph" - beyond absurd!

This is upcoming in an auction. The "James Dean signature" on this might take the cake for the worst fake I've seen in awhile. The "Elia Kazan" isn't any better. It's like someone carefully printed the Dean and Kazan names out so they could be read clearly. I stopped with those and couldn't bear to check any of the others.

All done in the same ink which the auctioneer describes as "clean and bright with only superficial surface wear".

The story on the letter of provenance is a pip.
