Hansons UK has just sold this book today for £900 . 

The description is completely wrong as the George is a printed signature along with one of the Eric’s in the book as all the editions are the same . 

I have called the auctioneer few days ago to inform them and nothing has been done to edit the description. 

if anyone on here has bought it I would ask for a refund asap.

Shocker! But who are Hansons UK and which platform were they selling on?

They are a non-specialist auction house in the UK owned by a TV "personality" antiques expert. I'm not keen on the guy as he's so full of himself but I would think he would certainly issue a refund.

This would have been on "thesaleroom", "Hansons Live" and possibly "Invaluable" too.

Hanson’s is a very well known auction house based in Derbyshire, U.K.  Owner Charles Hanson is a television celebrity who appears on Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Trip, etc.  Recently, he’s been in the national news for a personal court case.

You can buy from them in person, through their own website, or via The Saleroom.

Hanson’s is no better or worse than most general auction houses.  They just want to shift stuff through and take their commission.  They get some nice things through their doors, but their research and descriptions aren’t great.  As always, buyers should be aware of what they’re looking at before bidding.
