This ended recently on eBay.  Encapsulated by PSA.

Does this look like a possibility of being Truman Capote's handwriting and signature from any stage of his career?  I'm assuming, by the attached photo, that it is meant to be from his earlier days in writing.

Here's something good to compare it to, in my opinion.

It's an early Capote dedication that I feel is fine.  It also includes the same first name (although a different dedicatee).

That is the same example I found but I don't know his signature well enough.

Like many other higher end items from the Kuster collection, It looks dubious (at best) to me

If I recall correctly this has come up before with several names from the collection

Great eye Eddy.

It has.

Seeing this Capote upset me a bit.

I feel for the collectors who believe they now have rarities in their own collections from this source.  Anything attributed to coming from it should be examined more closely IMHO.

Wasn't there an "odd" MM?

MM, amongst others.  James Dean = terrible forgery.

Apparently there are also uninscribed items now surfacing that are being attributed to the Kuster collection.  It was easier for me, at least, to make the catch with the "To Jack..." dedications.

This is now for sale with no inscription and is attributed to the Kuster collection.

I recall you saying so. You have a good memory Eddy

Well, my memory is not always the best.

However, in the case of this collection, it's because I'm continually reminded of the extent of it since the broken up collection continues to filter through eBay.

Here's a new one to me in the funky purple pen which shows up frequently on these Kuster attributed cards.

Well, neither is mine. ;) I remember from your link the other names. Leigh and so on.

Dean...

The Leigh is one of the more downright embarrassing items.

Whoever did it and added it to the mix of Kuster's base collection didn't seem to put put much effort in.
