I think he's talking about people who did vote for this administration. Based on responses its going to be obvious who did and who did not.
But why would that even matter? If your taking a poll for info about who voted for Trump on these forums, what would you do with that information. To me, we are all in this together. Not one of us can stop what's happening. All we can do is either find a work around or curb our purchases. The latter may help stop inflation and potentially bring prices back to reality. (Most likely not though) Either way, it's up to business owners to decide prices and how they want to react to this news, not ours. We either accept this, or we don't. Ultimately we are the ones with a choice. I'm not sitting around complaining about how much items cost these days, if it doesn't work for me, I just don't buy. The TTM route is still a cheap option if you know what you're doing
If nobody complains, nothing ever gets changed. Squeaky wheel. It's stopped things like this before. Agreed that doing it on this forum doesn't help much, except a little energy around the issue.
I 100% agree with you on this. Squeaky wheel is used a lot with our family lol. Speaking on other comments, I just don't like the way this is headed and worried this will become a Trump bashing thread that will ultimately Get deleted from existance. No reason for us to be divided on here. I love all collectors no matter who anyone voted for. If anyone wants to voice opinions about this administration, I believe reddit will take anyone with open arms depending on the sub.
This isn't directed at you but to everyone, I'm always available on DM to chat, argue or fight over politics and feel speech should never be neglected, but time and place are big factors. No one wants to read about this nonsense on here
For what it's worth, the elimination of de minimis was already being floated during the previous administration. They say it's for our safety, but this rings about as hollow as a cop who lectures about speeding. I think we can all say that this hurts our hobby tremendously, as I type this with all the pain of having to cancel my outstanding pre-orders from abroad. It also stuns me that the news never reported on this in a timely manner, if at all, even though the executive order was put out back on 7/30. Come to think about it, a lot more folks are going to be caught off guard than just us when they either can't get their package or can't afford the punishing duty.
I was just simply explaining to the prior person that the one persons comment was directed toward people who voted for this administration that people who did not vote for this do not have to own it. 🤷🏻♂️
I get it but just felt your comment created a window of further division that wasn't necessary. I'm not a mod on here and I love everyone equally as well as their opinions but I think we all have to be careful with how we tread on this post in particular. The premise of this post could be set up just to divide us all
Rich w, I wouldn't cancel anything just yet without knowing exact outcomes. I wouldn't say it hurts the hobby, just makes it harder to collect international in certain aspects.
Rustybuckle, what is the other choice? Complaining on the forum to each other? That's what they want instead of them feeling it directly. They want us to bicker amongst each other without anything actually being accomplished. Direct your anger to the right place. An autograph forum isn't the right place. The only thing we can do as hobbyists is take a break from buying. What else can we do here?
inflation from the other guy is a lot worse than 15%. guess we are lose lose with leadership not caring about us buying LPs.
EBay have forewarned about this too ..
The effects of this nonsense are set to affect other countries too, including the U.K.:

I already have a workaround in place for more expensive items, which I can have reshipped via a close friend in the States, but it’s still a PITA.
