Nice! my CC dispute is still in the works. Did this bozo give you a tracking number? They did for me and it shows movement but I believe it to be fake.. Don't these scammers do this to trick buyers into thinking their order is on its way, making the scammer seem legitimate while they stall for time.
I clicked on the tracking, and then thought that I should maybe not have done :(
I didn't order anything, just commenting about how to protect yourself and how these crooks operate.
I see. Thanks. I am not sure what to think at this time. My two orders have tracking and shows moving along. I will just have to wait and see. Was just hoping to sort this out before I leave for holiday - headed to the Maldives.

How did you prove they are scammers? Did your credit card provider ask you to provide any evidence?
I have to wait 15 days before I can claim, unless, it turns out they are legit
I just called them straight away, told them it was fake and the fact I found the original video footage was for another legit site and they had stolen it.
Their dispute team was then in charge of looking into it and I just got a message to say they agree and crediting my account. I didn’t have to provide anything. That said, someone with an eye for scams wouldn’t have to spend much time looking into this one, so many red flags which makes me feel dumber haha.
It looks like we need to put a meaningful title and OP in here. Decide what you want and I'll take care of it.

For those of you who got a tracking number, is it just a link to a generic page that shows some kind of update, or is it a number that can be input into a carrier's own website?
Just curious...
My tracking numbers starts with QLD
It tracks under a tracking site called 17TRACK
A Google search turns up responses that indicate that it is a supposedly legitimate tracking site (tracks packages of various carriers).
But, the company/site is headquartered in China, and some scammers apparently use it to create false tracking.
My concern would be that if it is fake tracking then it is intended to put more time between the order date and any efforts to initiate a refund/chargeback.
Since the OP was scrubbed the details of what was ordered isn't even known to people who read this thread later. But, if it is something being shipped from China then the postage might actually be that inexpensive since China enjoys very favorable international postal rates.
Of course, I wouldn't really expect an autographed item to be shipping from there.
You are exactly right. They make it take longer and hope that your time to file a chargeback runs out. The 17track site is legit and comes from China. What happens is that a legitimate package will go through their site, then end up here and get reshipped by a US based carrier. Regardless, file a chargeback with the credit card company, keep all relevant information.
