Hi can anyone verify if this is a legit signature? Supposedly signed locally for charity.  Thanks!dylan.jpg

I explained the situation (where I got it from, and the unknown name attached to the letter), and both photos that I posted above.

The signature in the book does not look good to me. His manager could have confirmed the signature but didn’t.

Sorry Richard, you mean that when he replied

"I am very sure that it is authentic."

he was not confirming the signature? What did that mean then? Asking to try to understand the possibilities.

He only commented on items for charity, but that in my opinion is very vague. I personally do not think that it is an authentic example.

I see what you are saying now. In my email to him, I explained the situation (where I got it from, and the unknown name attached to the letter), and both photos that I posted above. He may have ignored the photos, but his response was direct to what I was asking. He could've been vague, that's true.

I guess we'll never know.

I’m going to go the other way and say I think this is legit.  There are subtle indicators in the Dylan signature that I’ve seen before in legit examples from his art prints.

The Matt Arkin authentication letters are not “unknown”.  They’ve been around for several years now, and I’ve seen them accompanying signed LPs that are genuine, IMO.  The Arkin signature here matches examples I’ve seen previously.

HOWEVER, the Arkin signature posted earlier in this thread is not a good match, and is a fake — again, IMO.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I appreciate the help.

Can you clarify which of the two Arkin signature you think is right and which one is wrong? One of them was posted earlier in this thread and one posted by me last night (mine is the one in blue ink, for quicker reference)

Your Matt Arkin is legit, IMO.

Here is another, found elsewhere online, that accompanied a legit signed LP of Highway 61 Revisited:

The above signature is a good match with yours.

The one posted earlier in this thread is not legit, IMO (neither is the Dylan autograph it accompanied):

You’d have been better off starting a new thread for yours, to avoid this kind of confusion.

Clearly different Matt Arkin signatures, but both are printed on the same paper, Starwhite, and the same product.

+1

There are subtle differences in the spacing and font used in the two letterheads.

Also, the example I posted is for a signed LP, not a book.  So, not the same product at all.
