It almost looks like these were signed yesterday considerng they are 63 years old. Any other thoughts?

Personal choice but I would leave it as it is. I have two sets, both left alone inside autograph books. I like the fact they are in their 'original' setting, how they were first signed.

I would agree 100%.  I would leave it in the book as is.  There is a story here and it’s just a great set.  I think this will make over $10k all in.

Nice set. Looks like Spring 1963...

Sold for £5.5k plus fees

i thought it would go for more, - it was a lovely set

38% was the inscription which could have held it back some? Not to me. And the placement of the Ringo and John - but to me it all looks OK when viewed with Ringo and John horizontal. IMO. I love the dedication and inscription!

Agreed re the placement of John and Ringo. Maybe not so ideal for display purposes. I cannot understand anyone who would be put off by the beautiful inscription. One very minor thing you didn't mention is the slight "bleed-through" from the autograph on the back. I suppose a very picky person might notice it, especially as it is in the middle of the four autographs.

I took that as negligible all things considered. Perhaps I was wrong.

Congratulations to fab432 for almost guessing the final price. fab's guess was over $10k all-in and by my reckoning it sold for almost exactly $10k (£5.5 + fees (say 35%) x GBP/USD rate (ca. 1.35) = $10k). I can already hear you saying "get a life"....

I don't know their buyer's fees, but I figured 25%. That's still $9,200, which was a good deal for that set.

Long gone are the days of 25% including sales tax at most UK auction houses. I just checked back and this particular auction had fees of 32.4%. I'm not sure if that includes auction platform fees (the saleroom charge 5% - or used to at least - and EasyLive 3%).

Actually the 32.4%  must include the auction platform fee of 5% as the auction house T&C state that the premium is 20% plus sales tax on that premium (20%). If you bought from the auction house direct I guess you would be paying around 25%.
