Lennon-Ono signed Grapefruit book - Same sigs on two different items.

Lot 231 in Gotta Have it's current auction claims to be the sheet music from "Imagine' signed by Lennon/Ono.

Same exact signatures that were on a Grapefruit book from a previous Gotta Have it auction. (See Photo)

The sheet music was offered at Sotheby's last year but was withdrawn when they were made aware of this.

Hi,

It's called a souvenir print, meaning the piece was live signed, and then printed over.

It's common practice and 35% of the signed photographs in the market were signed as blanks then printed over

Love how the percentage in one reply went from 20% to now 35%. It's almost like they are making it up as they go along....

Never heard of a "souvenir print" and it's certainly NOT common practice. The Grapefruit book was "live signed" not the Imagine Lyrics which isn't made clear in the auction description. John and Yoko were never anywhere near the Imagine Lyrics -- something that prospective buyers should know before bidding.
