I received 2 B&N books and, while I don't suspect any issues with this pen version at this time, im still going to return them. It looks like after fees and shipping, sellers are just hoping to get their money back on ebay. I don't know what their reasons are but I would think a return to the store would be the best option. It might send a message to the publisher that even if an autopen is only suspected, we won't stand for it?  I was on the fence with this purchase anyways and forgot to cancel my order

My two from B&N. Not Sharpie.

This is my Waterstones copy. Doesn't look like the other ones.

Still gathering examples and seeing what they show. Seems to be a pretty strong consensus out there that the abbreviated marker versions are secretarial. Since some of them are pretty close with only slight variation, I’m also looking for any evidence of mechanical involvement.

Ultimately, it’s going to be up to the major authenticators if they are comfortable passing these (especially JSA via Premiere…I’ve seen a couple emails from Premiere that these are under review with their authentication partners).

Also been working on getting the word out and reached out to a couple media contacts that I had from the Liza situation. I let them know about this and the Stallones. I received a positive response from one but not sure if a story is coming.

Hoping maybe the media will pick up on this and perhaps put some pressure on the publisher (which is, of course, Grand Central… same as Liza, Hayden Panettiere, Priscilla Presley).

Going after the publisher over multiple issues may be the best story. I don't necessarily see media attention for a celebrity who released a mixture of real and fake. Its part of a bigger picture. The more evidence gathered specifically against Grand Central, the better. I can see it eventually being picked up by the media but it all depends on how its pitched and how much true evidence is out there. It might not be ready to be picked up at this time but as these releases grow and info builds, I can see it happening eventually especially if they refuse to change their ways.

Matt, you are doing a great job gathering all of these examples from each release for all to see  patterns. You're building a strong case regardless. Its a chess game. Might still be a few moves away but the vision is there.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s still early with the Michael Douglas books, but I did make sure to mention the publisher angle.

I’m not sure what else to do with the Stallones, other than see what the major authenticators have to say. I’m curious if they will authenticate examples from each of the styles. I’d also still like to see documented in-person examples that correspond to each of those styles (style 3 is documented).

I agree that the a mix of genuine and questionable signatures may complicate things. With the Liza books, the concerns were across the entire release. There at least appears to be confidence that some of the Michael Douglas signatures are genuine. Based on what I’ve seen with the Stallones, I think there are some of those that may be ok too. It’s just a mess that we are left to sort out.

Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate that. Definitely spent some long hours trying to sort these out, but it can be enjoyable and worth it.

Can I echo Jason’s comments regarding all the work you do Matt. It is greatly appreciated by us all. Thank you.

Thanks Chris! That’s great to know, I appreciate it. :-)
