I recently was given my late brother's collection of autographed memorabilia and I am not sure how real it is. I wanted to get some opinions on this board and found it through Steve at his Zipper's collecting obsession blog.
Thanks in advance

there is several mantle threads already you may want to check them.
Chris,
Sorry, but the Mantle is definitely a very common forgery. I think the DiMaggio and Williams are, too, but I'm not as good on them.
I think the autograph stuff from Triumph Sports are authentic; Triumph is similar to Tri-Star and GTSM. They host autograph shows.
The link below are complaints from collectors who did not receive the items that they sent in to get signed by the athletes:

None of the complaints appear to be related to authenticity of the signatures.
Chris,
Thee Mantle, Williams and DiMaggio autographs attached aren't from Triumph, right? Who are they from?
All those signatures are from STAT Authenticators. They are so damn official looking that I can definitely see where people could be scammed by them. The COAs are laminated and they have official hologrammed stickers that have #'s that match the laminated COA. The triumph sports stuff is more signed helmets by Kurt Warner, Dan Marino, Howie Long and other guys. He was into collecting Hall of Famers, so he also has baseballs signed by Bob Feller, Jenkins, Perry, Rose, and future guys like Glavine. They have authentication from MAB celebrity services and mounted memories. And this is really only one box out of about 5 or 6 that my sister in law said she has in their basement. I'm just hoping I don't see anything else from STAT ;)
STAT = FAKE
If someone offered me an autograph and told me it had a STAT certificate, the evidence presented on this website, time after time, would lead me to assume it to be fake, even with out seeing it. The chance of an authentic autograph being certified by STAT is so low that it is safer to walk away immediately.
Hey Chris...welcome
Unfortunately those 3 pieces are not authentic...If your brother was heavy into collecting in the mid and late 90s chances are there could be other bad pieces in the collection despite who certified it...I am sure if you post more pictures....myself...Zipper...Chris Williams...Terrier and any of the seasoned collectors can give you sold opinions on any and all pieces in the collection...there is many collectors on this site including myself that has been burned before on fakes so feel free to share what you have and we can all help you out on figuring out whats authentic and whats not...
Hi Chris and welcome…
It is as I feared with the three STAT signatures you posted.
The good news is sounds like you may have some authentic stuff as well. Mounted Memories and MAB are legitimate show promoters who host private signings. That stuff should be good, but it’s always wise to check to be 100%.
I believe Triumph is reputable as well if memory serves me correctly, but post some images to be certain.
I actually thought you were the Steve who already posted above LOL. I had listed the 5 photos(there was also a Koufax in there) for $400 on Craigslist before I found out all this negative stuff about STAT and had someone offer me $200 before I took it down. I explained that it is STAT Authenticated and he said he didn't care and would be taking the risk that PSA would authenticate them. I'm considering just selling them to the guy since he has e-mailed me 4 times already since yesterday. He's probably a scamming reseller though and while I could use the $200, and I am sure my brother probably paid $100 a piece for these, I'm not interested in furthering them along.
The rest of the stuff is turning out to be OK...I listed the helmets on eBay with the TriumphSports authentication. There's a Kurt Warner Helmet from 2000 that is pretty nice that was authenticated by Tri-Star and they are supposed to be pretty reputable. Triumph authenticated the Marino helmet. Both are in nice shape so I'm glad he did alright with them.
The baseballs are mostly MAB with a Glavine ball being Mounted Memories. The MAB ones are Jenkins, Feller, and Perry. I am pretty sure the Manual is legit as I got it for him from BC Sports. The Daulton is a 1993 World Series signed baseball that is authenticated by a local place in Cherry Hill, NJ...scoreboard I believe...and I think it is pretty legit. It's probably 17 years old.
Thanks again for your help. I'm not sure how long I will be involved in this as it isn't something I am interested in staying with, but I know there are probably another 3 or 4 boxes to go through so who knows what I'll find.
The guy from Craigslist who wants the STAT items probably knows they are fake… but he’ll put them in his antique shop or second hand store and hope he gets someone who is dazzled by the official looking piece of paper and he’ll flip them for a few hundred bucks profit.
You are doing the right thing by trashing the STAT items. Why cause someone else pain down the road?
The rest of the stuff sounds good.
