As I’ve grown as a collector, I’ve learned that setting goals is a good way to maintain focus, which ultimately helps you build a better collection.

With that in mind, have you set goals for 2012 and written them down? What are they?

My 2012 goals version 1.0. I’m sure I’ll be adding more as the year progresses.  :-)

* Roger Maris – signed baseball card or photo. I want something with a Yankee image. A photo may be out of my range, but a nicely signed baseball card may do the trick.

* Koufax HOF Postcard

* Bill Dickey HOF Postcard

* Hank Aaron HOF Postcard

* Ted Williams HOF Postcard

* Mantle HOF Postcard

* Billy Martin SP

* Rivera “Last to Wear 42” ball

* Paul O’Neill ball

* Frank Borman SP

* Hank Greenberg HOF Postcard

* Joe McCarthy HOF Postcard

By the way, I have already knocked two goals from the list… just waiting for their arrival. :-)

THIS IS A GREAT IDEA ZIPPER...I AM SO ALL OVER THE PLACE WITH WHAT I COLLECT THE GOALS ARE OFTEN PASSED UP BUT OTHER BARGAINS AND OR ITEMS I WANT...BUT AS FAR AS SOMETHING I SEEM TO HAVE STARTED COLLECTING I THINK I WOULD HAVE TO SAY

AS MANY 1958 TOPPS YANKEES AUTO CARDS I CAN ACQUIRE

AS MANY 1933 GOUDEY YANKEES AUTO CARDS I CAN ACQUIRE

I WILL BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR YOU LIST ZIPPER...I SCOUT DAILY...I WILL KEEP YOUR LIST IN MIND

FOR THE EXCEPTION OF THE GIBBS AND DOWDING CARDS THESE ARE THE ONES I HAVE GOT LAST YEAR TTM AND IP...PLUS A FEW MORE I NEVER POSTED THAT I PURCHASED AT AUCTION...PLUS I JUST WON 2 MORE THAT SHOULD BE COMING IN THIS WEEK...I THINK THIS IS GOING TO BE A GOOD GOAL FOR MYSELF SINCE I HAVE NOT REALLY SET ANY...BUT SINCE THESE ARE MUCH CHEAPER THEN THE 33 GOUDEYS AND OFTEN IN BETTER SHAPE I CAN USE THESE TO GET SIGNED EITHER TTM OR IN PERSON SINCE MANY OF THESE PLAYERS ARE STILL ALIVE...I JUST LOVE THE SIMPLICITY OF THE SET AND THE COLOR BACKING...AND THERE JUST PERFECT FOR SIGNING SINCE THERE NOT GLOSSY AND JUST HAVE THAT GREAT VINTAGE LOOK

THE NEW ADDITION TO MY 58 YANKEE SIGNATURES...7 BUCKS...JUST AWESOME...ALSO GOT A LARSEN PERIOD AUTO COMING IN FROM THE SAME SET THIS WEEK...YOU GUESSED IT IN PEN...MY FAVORITE...AND YES FROM THE PERIOD...VINTAGE AWESOMENESS

Your Yankees' cards are ace. I particularly like the penmanship of Don Larsen and Johnny Kucks.

just in another part pf my "GOAL" set of 1958 Yankees Don Larsen "period auto" and one of my favorite sets the 1958 topps...20 bucks

Great project, CEE GEE. What percentage of the signed card set do you have so far?

He Pete......I will never get all of them but I am looking to get all or most of the Yankees at least and some of the HOF players which there are plenty of in that set...would love to get a Mantle but doubt I ever will because there always just a ton of money but do exist...

I have several on-the-go hockey pet projects that involve signed vintage cards. Between deceased players, expensive cards (even before they are signed) and forgeries, the projects tend to slow down pretty quickly. Like you are doing, you almost have to limit your focus to certain teams/players, or, in one of my projects, to signed rookie cards.

I wouldn't mind completing my Jane's Addiction albums. I have Perry on quite a few and Stephen on Ritual. Next month, they stop on tour in a city near mine.

Also, I am looking to further complete my G N'R Lies booklets. I have two copies of the cd. One is signed by Adler, and the other by Slash. I would rather have one signature per copy of Lies.

My goals are trying to get more Suicide Girls, Womens college basketball teams, and hopefully fork out the cash for a authentic Audrey hepburn
