Garry King is well liked by some but I see a big problem with some of the items I see on his site.  I'm not referring to Kenny Baker and other small bits but rather the large $$ music items.

Dealers in the UK might not be aware of current music item that they offer for sale.  In another thread several autographs from Autografica were deemed fake.  The items were Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston and Harrison Ford.

He might not know there is a problem.

Steve, these are not good forgeries like you have stated before.  Any dealer with a few years under his belt would spot these from across the floor.

These Michael Jacksons look like the ones I've seen offered by dealers all over the UK as genuine, but I don't think they are...and I know MJ fairly well.

I mentioned this in the last discussion: I think there's a major kink in the supply chain of modern music and entertainment autographs in the UK. UK in-person collectors with strong, longtime reputations in the industry are selling autographs to reputable dealers (and non) that would be hard to sell to knowledgeable dealers in the US as genuine.

Agreed.  So many AFTAL sellers that I have researched have these same looking Michael Jacksons.  Even non-AFTAL uk dealers have them.  Maybe Michael signed different for the British?

Like previously said by myself, I trust Garry King 100%, so no malice in the opinion that these are atypical Jacksons.

Steve how do you feel about all of the Michael Jackson autographs in the recent "Gotta Have It" auction. There were alot of them and I did win this one.

I think it's good, Bruce. Let's see what others think.

I'd like to say a few things to the people who have made comments & have opinions on the items on this page. Firstly I'm not going to get into long chats & keep replying or adding to anymore comments left after this. I don't have the time to sit on a computer all day on forums giving opinions arguing as I'm busy on the streets getting the items that so many people who make these comments on forums aren't doing themselves. I'm putting this to bed now & stating the facts. I do think it's good that people try & help others who maybe aren't that clued up & are a bit vulnerable to buying fakes but not try & harm or be as concrete on damaging other peoples reputations.

I have personally spent the last 15+ years travelling the world literally the world getting everybody you can name past & present. How many people can say they collect up & down the UK across Europe, Over to the USA East & West, Barbados, Canada & more. And by the way know people in all & more these places. The reason why when I read these forums I get angry is not because I'm always right or that some may say why would you get mad if your not wrong is because the vast majority of people questioning you are not half as experienced as they make out they are. Some are & granted I would welcome their views constructively because in my years I've seen how many celebrities autographs have varied over time have changed, different from signing in the rain to the sun, from signing in the UK to in the States, i.e people like Jagger & McCartney, I used to know Jaggers driver & would get him very often & also get Paul frequently at his office, how these 2 guys were different to get across in the states, how when celebrities change security or assistants altar how many they sign, i.e Depp since he permanently got Judge as his Security, anyone who collects will know. How it matters weather you get them at a hotel or through a car window or at a premier or at their houses, or at a traffic light! whether they think your a dealer maybe? I've heard mad things from people about certain pens or colours as well. Nick Mason will sign a Drum head but not a card? have you seen how many guitars you can buy on the net or eBay by legends I don't believe sign them like Edge & Clapton etc.. yet there on there, how do these people get away with it? So many different factors to what signature you get that day if you get one, let alone just whether the plain old what mood there in themselves. I'd know this as I've seen all these different situations many times.

With regards to the Macca and the Kylie on this page they are not the best signatures but then again I've had a lot worse on a few occasions. Even the best or more regular of signatures can sometimes altar badly. The Mj's are real because I like a few others like Victor, Canada, Lisle, Adam & a few more without mentioning full names spent the last year of Jacko's life doing him daily & these were obtain in person by me. I personally obtained over 200 signatures from him in that window.

Now some may say no way b******* impossible but were they there? because those of us who were actually outside his house, outside the medical clinic, In the car chases, at the antiques stores, the book shops, the lights, the original dance auditions, the Ed Hardy shop, the Bev Hilton & the Bel air hotel & all the other many locations saw each other obtain large numbers of graphs. I had days of getting double figures often. When he signed he racked & not many people would know to what extent & this was a period only a few of us capitalized on. I have pictures with & video & memorable experiences of Mj. Do you know the names of his 3 main security? Do they know yours & would recognize you if they saw you? do you know the French fans & other foreign fans who'd regularly travel to LA to see him? Do they know you? Would you know the registration plates on his trucks or what colour they were or model? his address or various where abouts in endless places? Did he personally sign things to your name?? I can answer yes to all off them. I feel like it's wrong replying to these threads but then some may say you look guilty if you don't reply & some may say you look bad letting it bother you? how do you win? I guess you'll never satisfy everyone, there's too many forums & opinions from people now you'd spend all your time fighting your corner.

I know the days of collecting Marilyn Monroe & Elvis & the Beatles & authenticating them aren't as easy because of how many people get autographs now & how celebrities & the entertainment industry has changed & vary altogether. Heck look how much people like Macca can vary, not like it was the same back in the day. He did a book signing in Westwood for his kids book some years ago & everyone was so similar but then so different in other ways than the lots I've had in London or Liverpool? Mj signed packages in large numbers sat on his knee reeling them off so when there signing like that you get more methodical looking graphs. I'm not saying anymore because it's looking like I'm trying to convince people rather than just give my reply, so Anyway that's my view & I hope it makes a difference to those who read it, Bwilliams, Grappher99, Steve Cyrkin & Bare Foot Mike etc.. Steve mentioned about UK collectors, I can only speak for myself but I've got Jacko in London, Oxford, Luton, Las Vegas, LA, NYC, How many times did you guys get him out of curiosity?

I agree with people being questioned over their stock especially in the way the industry is today, but in the instance the wrong persons stock is being questioned which is why the such long reply. I just hope this satisfies the doubters, but I know not all of you will accept my explanation above.

I also hope you continue to past constructive views for the not so experienced collectors or buyers. I see you put alot of time & are at the end of the day only trying to stop bad.

Thank you

Yay J!!!

Look at Jeremiah go!

Adrian,

So we finally meet.  I can answer your questions with Yes. yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.  The MJ's are fake and they probably came from you.  I'm sorry but I know Roger J. from Houston and have had a stack of YOUR fake Jackson's in my office.  I have also had a STACK of YOUR fake McCartney's in my office and have turned them down.  Maybe my UK friends like Gary from Barrow can chime in and call you out!  Your days in this business are done. I know you, I know what you do.  You can't fool a pro like me.  Your BS stories don't fly with me.  I will be talking with Garry tomorrow about you!  Now what, you are done?!  Your BS interviews with the media don't mean crap to me, it's all BS.  Sure you got real autographs in the past but you mix them up with the fake ones you sell.  I have proof!  Now what?!!!  YOU are the BAD!

Go get 'em Roger!

I still have this question. If Gary renders an opinion on Michael Jackson, are these the type of examples he uses? If not, what does he use since he doesn't obtain the examples himself? That's the question I had with the answer he gave regarding the Harrison Ford (which is horribly bad in my opinion).

I'm just a NASCAR autograph Authenticator, yet even I can see the problems with the Michael Jackson items shown here when given even a cursory comparrison to known (and fully respected) authentic examples.

No, I'm not pointing any fingers or trying to discredit Gary. I just have that one question. I think it's a fair one.

Glad I never bought anything from them.
