Michael Jackson Signing Styles in Julien's Tompkins and Bush Sale

On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

I am the fan who bought item sale lot nb 1003 from the Tompkins and Bush auction at Julien´s.

What do you think about the signature?

so sorry, but that is a classic Bush. Nothing about it looks remotely like Michael Jackson's handwriting or autograph :(.

Mai-Britt please email Juliens immediately for a refund. Dont go into too much with them, they are fully aware what is going on, just inform them you have seen three expert reports, the autographs are fakes. Plz keep us updated, good luck,

We have a problem. Darren Julien is saying, via MJJ Collectors, that auction item 794, the standee is now not even a standee. He says it is a poster, that it was a mistake. I have this standee. I have a photo of it on my facebook page sitting in my house on August 26, 2010. People asked me about the background. I said it pops out of its background, but I kept mine in its background with the license plates for a long time. So we now know how Darren is going to explain the standee. Even though, if you closely look at the photos (please several people screen cap before it disappears) on the Julien's website, that there are deep cuts in the cardboard and that it is NOT poster paper.

I'm usually on the sports side of this website, but I've been following this forum with great interest.

If Julien's is now stating that the item MJ signed isn't a "standee," then the auction should be "Voided." And if the buyer already paid for that particular auction, they should have no problems or issues getting a refund.

But it still does not explain HOW Michael Jackson signed a standee when it was not even manufactured until October 2009 (when Michael passed away on June 25, 2009).
