Disclaimer: I'm leaving most of the original content from this thread, though I would like to state that my original concerns appear to have been hasty and decidedly invalid.  This Ebay seller does in fact appear to be legitimate seller of authentic music autographs.

I came across this music seller on ebay this morning after I saw the vintage U2 autographs he posted.  They immediately stuck me as questionable.  I don't think they're real, even though they look relatively close.

I looked at the rest of the sellers other inventory, and a lot of his LP's look like they were signed with the same pen (or type of pen).  He has some big names - Metallica, Tom Petty, Aerosmith, Roger Waters, Rod Stewart . . .

Wrong, Rich ! This is a free world ! Voice your opinion or this site does not need to exist !

Yeah, but I think my assessment that triggered the question to begin with was decidedly faulty.  Really woefully so in fact.

Maybe but you apologized and added a disclaimer since.... I wouldn't feel sorry if i were you ! Especially after all your cool contributions to the site...

Bruuuce,

This is a friendly site for sure.  What we don't want to happen is to have some honest and innocent seller be called out unfairly thus hurting his reputation.  It doesn't take much anymore for something to damage it.  BTW he got all these himself he states in his ad.

maybe it would be easier to delete the entire post - if that is possible? If someone were to ever do an engine search for Atlantamusic... and "Autographs" this will be the first thing to pop up and they are going to read about two posts and move on to the next thing in their lives. short attention spans these days..and weeding through posts will not happen. This is something that should happen throughout the site if a seller - dealer whoever is proven to not be the ugly ogre they are blamed of being. Probably take too much policing though and infringing upon our (i'll lump myself in even though i'm not a citizen) basic american right to freedom of speech. D

I can close it, but it doesn't appear that I can delete it.  But that's exactly what I was thinking, too.

Hi Rich,

I can delete it, but let me check with Steve first.  I know he usually likes to keep threads - if there is something learned on them (ie exemplars shared etc) -  I need to know what he normally does too, so I'll touch base with him.  If I delete it - I'll send a post here first to let you (and those following) know.

I've been helping Steve moderate the list for a few months now, nice to meet you.

Wascher

Sounds good.  Thanks.

Rich, Wascher...

I'd like to keep this discussion open. It reminds people that even members that are usually right, like you Rich, may not be in some cases--nobody's perfect, of course. And it's an important reminder to be really sure before dissing a seller. It's OK to ask about them, but to be sure before you call them out.

And last but not least, Rich showed how a situation like this should be handled in order to remedy it. I think that this was a very valuable post overall. Good job.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Wascher. You do a great job here that's much appreciated.

Steve

I bought 4 autographed items from the seller in question and they all looked good to me.  He gave me a deal as well so kudos to him.
