Authenticity of Rolling Stones Bridges to Babylon lithograph

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I've been looking at picking up a hand signed Rolling Stones Bridges to Babylon lithograph and found one for sale, however, it doesn't appear to be numbered. The others I've seen have a pencil number of the 125 issued in the lower left corner. The seller has checked and there's definitely no number. He thinks it could be an artists proof, extra copies signed in case numbered copies are damaged. Does this sound feasible? I've tried googling this but can't find anything.

Thanks!

Karl

Ok here we go........for one thing I'm not mr sloane,I wouldn't know him if he was standing next to me.never met him, never talked to him.I just recognized the piece.it's been on eBay for months now.it doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure out his name.Roger is absolutely wrong when he said if it's not numbered it's fake.he is wrong a lot.google his name and you will see all of his shortcomings.I never said that this sloane characters piece was psa authenticated I said mine was.and yes they did personally say that my piece was passed with absolutely no problem.I don't sent my pieces to them for authentication, every six moths or so the come to new jersey at authentication and memorabilia shows,I wait till they come and I bring all the pieces I've purchased to their booth and they authenticate while I wait.so YES they personally told me absolutely no problem on the unnumbered one.Ive never heard the term puffery in mymlife, actually it sounds pretty stupid.all I'm saying is that I own 2 of these one is from the numbered edition and one has no number.they are both real.I didn't just register today to get on this thread ,I registers a while ago I've never replied until today.I thought I would be able to help shed some light on the matter that's all.you people jumped on me like I personally f***** you guys....not much of a greeting to a first time replier is it?

Paul, please watch your language on our forum, or you'll be removed.  I understand your upset, but that is no reason to use that language here.  Thank you.

Here are the pictures..they are a little mixed up but you will be able to put them in order.they represent both of mine.there are 4 pictures of the unnumbered one also showing the psa cert.then there are 3 pictures of the numbered one #43 /125 in the lower left corner above kieth Richards.hope this enlightens everybody that unnumbered ones can also absolutely be authentic.let me know what you guys think.

Very nice Paul, thanks for taking the time to post these. And if you ever feel like parting with one let me know!

That's a deal.there was a numbered one (45/125) on eBay last week.the seller was selling it for 3999.99 . HE GOT IT!! That's definitely good news for me, I didn't think it would sell for that much.couldn't believe it when it sold for that price.I wonder how much my unnumbered one would sell for.it's real for sure ,psa authenticated but no limited edition number.what do you think?

Wow that's a lot of money! I've seen them sell for between $1200-2500 but I guess they're worth what someone is willing to pay, and the value will surely increase as these are licensed Stones prints.

I agree. It wasn't framed either.I'll definitely keep you in mind when I sell.the problem is that I'm not selling for at least 25 years....lol. I just picked up the Jeff koons licks signed litho also.very nice indeed.I got # 142 out of 250.

I don't blame you, good investments! I've been considering the Jeff Koons as well, the RS official store still has some for $3500

I know they do.I called them 2 weeks ago and I asked them how many they had left.the manager on that day told me that they had 12 left.he then said that they sell 1 a month.I have a 20% discount with them so I asked them if I could use it for the litho,he said no.it's a specialty item and the discount doesn't apply.what a bummer .he said that he could have it shipped for 3500.00 plus tax.totalling 3800 and change.there are 2 guys asking 5000.00 plus on eBay.there out of there minds....

Haha 5K? If it's sold out fair enough but when it's still available through the official store at considerably less, that's crazy

I always wondered if the litho set they're selling for $2500 has all three signatures (Mick Keith and Charlie). The wording is unusual when it says "individually signed by either Mick, Keith, or Charlie". But before that it says 3 lithos total. It must mean there's 3 differen ones signed by each all in the same set for $2500.

Yeah I've wondered that as well JXE. It's a lot of money if you end up with 3 lithos all signed by Charlie!
