It is an item I would avoid based on the image presented.

I'd like to see a much larger image for a definitive determination.

From the "proof photo" that shows ZERO "proof", to the .99 sticker on it, those are enough red flags for me to stay away and that's knowing NOTHING about the signature.

What we are seeing much of lately on eBay is people trying to turn common quarter bin comics into $20 bills. Soooo many Stan Lee fakes.

If you had an opportunity to get something signed by Stan, wouldn't you use a book he actually wrote? You could easily pick up a decent looking book from the 60s for $5 or less. Why use a modern issue of Spider-Man that he didn't even write?

Well I once had Tony Curtis sign my Sgt Pepper LP simply because he was on the cover and that is all I could come up with on short notice.  Sometimes you have to go with what you got at hand.  I am strictly concerned about the signature itself here.

John, you make a good point and I understand...

That said, the flood of suspect Stan Lee sigs are just about ALWAYS on unrelated, cheap bargain bin comics. IMO, an unrelated, cheap comic may not necessarily be a certain sign of a forgery, but it is a red flag to be weighed in the equation.

As much of a signing machine that Stan is, could this be a sloppy example quickly scribbled on the go? I could possibly see it. But like Zipper said, I'd like to see a better image, and like Ryan said, the proof picture is meaningless.

The real question is, given the ABUNDANCE of legitimate Stan Lee signed beauties out there at reasonable prices, why bother picking up a sloppy, questionable one on a comic book that is literally worthless?
