Michael Jackson drawings (Miscell inc. 'Historic portraits' and 'Disney characters')

I'm noticing a sudden influx of MJ signed Michael Jackson drawings coming on to the auction market, which seem to share the common themes of either 'portraits of historical figures'  or 'Disney characters'.

Both of these themes are of course recognised from Michaels' drawings both at a young age and later in life, but it is interesting that so many new drawings are being released on to the market at the same time.

Here are some current examples:

New Lot 460 White cloth: See you in July and Lot 1357 MJ signed card.

Unsold lots seem to be re-offered ad nauseam.  The PPan, Wendy and Tink and Earth boy drawings were offered in May 14,  as was the 'Peace globe' drawing, the red 'W The Pooh signed pyjamas, the Heal the World tee and the tan signed Florsheims etc etc.

An interesting comparator to 'I will always adore you all' (above) from the 27th July 14 SP auction:

Curiously, this second version was sold at the Julien's (Bush) Auction in December 12, for over $2k.

The Simon Parr Auctions listing for 11 July 15 seems to present a limitless cornucopia of 'MJ-signed delights'.   Three more portrait drawings seem to have been added in the last week: Lots 402, 403 and 397E.

Hey, they have to wait for their talented artist to finish each "drawing" and let the ink, or crayon, dry, and then get it 'signed" and voila, a new auction lot appears.

And another 'I will always adore you', this time sold at Heritage Auctions in August 14 for $1k, Lot 89506

All of the latest ones you posted are junk as usual.

If you can Lizzie, try to post the newest findings in a new box at the top of this page of this discussion.  I'm unable to comment on anything because we've replied too many times to them and the site only allows for so many replies before it won't allow you to comment back on them.

The latest ones that have Marilyn in crayon (Lots 402, 403 and 397E) are the same signer that was signing in the start of this thread (the type that were sent to Roger from Mem Vault).  I do have an email from someone who confessed to be a part of those drawings - they named Jason as the one who asked them to help do them (and then Jason stiffed them).  The email however may or may not be factual, as I tried to get this email sender to answer some more questions (sent them two emails) and they won't respond.  They state Jason was responsible for the awards as well.

That was why I proposed previously that we have a "gallery" of various signed items, it could be just Michael, or it could cover various celebrities who get fairly constant requests for opinion, the Beatles, Stones, Jimi, etc.  They they could be subdivided by real vs. forged, and then by category.  In Michael's case, alleged Disney drawings, other portraits, hats, pillow cases, etc.  They could then be numbered, and an ongoing discussion would not be interrupted by other pieces of "art" being posted in the middle of that thread.  Just a thought.

Unfortunately this site isn't set up like that where a gallery can be made (at least not that I am aware of).   I did however create from another thread, forged MJ's created by Erick McKay Burgos and then Real MJ examples.  You can find those in my photo folders on my own profile.

The top photo is Another 'MJ' drawing from Simon Parr auctions- this one apparently sold on 28th Mar 15 for £1000.  Description as below:

Quote:'A large drawing in soft pastels of Michael Jackson and Mickey Mouse holding hands going to Disney world. Drawn and signed by Michael Jackson. The drawing measures: 23.5x16 inches and is mounted and framed in an Italian hardwood veneer frame measuring a total of 27x19.5 inches. This is one of the largest drawings we have seen by Michael Jackson.'

I remember seeing the original of this, I think on DA not long after we lost MJ.  ( The original painting is below the Simon Parr copy). The title of the original was 'Michael going home with Mickey'.  An unusual painting for 'MJ' to create....  The copyist presumably did not understand the meaning of 'going home'.
