To anyone inclined to post their opinion regarding this book. The autographed version retails for $5K plus another $90. I have a couple of concerns before ordering it. For those of you familiar with the book, is it hand-signed opposed to auto-pen and is it safe to order online through Taschen's website? I raise the second question because they do not have the book listed on one of their websites but seem to have another website devoted exclusively to this book. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I went to their website. I believe it does say that the books are hand-signed and not autopen. All I can say is that for $5000, they better not be autopen! What a great item that would be though. If I were you, I would probably just try to give them a call. I can't remember if there was a contact number or not. If there is, I would give them a ring.

Taschen and Genesis books in UK are top notch. I ordered a signed Bob Dylan print from Genesis and being in the U.S. was quite apprehensive about having problems receiving it. No problems. Send them an Email.

   Ian,

I've dealt with Genesis before and had great service but it didn't involve nearly the amount of money nor any autograph.  I'm new to all of this but I've received some of the best education about the autograph world right here on this website dealing with people just like yourself.  I have no interest in selling the items I'm buying and the thought of cherishing something that is isn't legitimate is a great concern.  Having said that I will contact Taschen as you've suggested and hope to get the right answers.  Thanks so much for your time and interest regarding this issue.

     Sincerely,   Joe

Ian, do you know what the customs duty fees are if you buy an autographed item from the UK and have it shipped to the U.S.?

When I dealed twice with Genesis I don't recall any extra fees.

Ok, thanks, Ian.
I ordered one two...how well was it boxed and shipped....wish the signature was bigger.

Thanks James.  I called last evening but unfortunately there was no one in the office however they listed several numbers I could call during normal business hours with questions.  Thank you for your time and suggestion.  Very helpful.

    Best,   Joe

That is a mighty pricey premium for a set of autographs.  You could find complete sets, with historic members for a whole lot less.

    Gratefulphish,

Thanks for your insight however the book, although a bit pricey as you say, is amazing from what I've seen so far.  I, like so many others, am a die hard fan and enjoy beyond words the photos, stories, etc. and the autographs are the icing on the cake.  From my perspective it is a piece of history that I would cherish for years to come and therefore worth the investment.  Thanks again.

It would be a cool piece. Joe you catching them on this tour? I'm going in a couple of weeks. Can't wait!

   Hey Barry,

Yeah, my girlfriend and I saw them at the Ohio Stadium on May 30th and I'm going to see them again in Milwaukee on the 23rd.  I saw them on their 50 and Counting tour when they were in Chicago.  Their music and performances just never get old to me.  I could be wrong but when I watch them I can't help feeling that they really love what they do and it would kill them to stop.  To watch Jagger at 72 (I'm 54) do what he does on stage is an absolute miracle.  His pipes aren't quite what they used to be but close enough for me.  The Stones...they are the one thing more than anything else that never fails to put a smile on my face.  Where are you going to see them?  Thanks for writing back and I hope you have a great time at the show.
