Rock and Roll Collection Concerns [Title revised by moderator]

I see this site brought up a lot on this site for autograph references.

http://www.rockandrollcollection.com/

problem is, who ever this Stephan is he has a load of forgeries up here too. I get messages from people from time to time saying he has offered to sell a member here an item or two and it is never the real stuff imo, it is usually the fake stuff. Greed. He wants money but doesn't want to part with the good stuff.

Eagles are his most famous work. Attached is a screen shot of his fake work (not limited too). Notice how they are the same..... duh. If you look through his stuff he has loads of fake Zeppelin, Beatles, Springsteen, Stones, Floyd and more. Even the so called authentic Traveling Wilbury's is not real. Maybe the George and Petty are ok but 100% not the Lynne and I'm pretty sure the Dylan is bogus also. Anyway, I don't wish to debat about this guy and his ethics but if you are using him a reference be careful and I wouldn't buy anything from the guy either.

Here are some more mixed Eagles items he has offered for sale/sold.  My apologies if I depict something you have purchased.  I'm going to focus on the easy ones so it is clearer to see the problems.

Here we see the "cookie cutter" Henley again and the bad straight up 'gl' Frey from the CD covers.

Here we have an authentic Henley (notice the difference), but not so authentic Felder or Walsh.  Honestly not sure whats going on with the Frey here, perhaps he forgot he doesn't have an 'O' in his name.  The straight up 'gl' is also consistent with the non-authentic style. Also both the Felder and Walsh here matche perfectly with the non-authentic examples from the CD covers.

Here we see the "cookie cutter" Henley signature again, and the straight up 'gl' Frey.

Regarding Mr. Duncan's Eagles items certain questions have to be asked such as:

1. Why would a forger put 100's of Eagles items on a public website for all to see therefore exposing himself to scrutiny?

2. Why would a forger wait 20 years to start selling his stuff when he could've been quietly making money for years?

3. If I was a forger, I'd sell fully signed albums for 5 times the money I'd get for a signed CD cover. (Yet he has many cd covers for sale or has sold).   Ever know a forger to want to make LESS money?

4. If I were a forger the LAST place I'd sell my stuff is on this website where you must know the items will get picked over and discussed to death. I'd sell on Ebay, I-Offer, and many other auctions houses.

The evidence so far does not add up to "Master Forger" as some are saying.

Bruce - agree.  I had a telephone conversation with SD very early on, around the time I made my first purchase, during which we discussed the estimated market value of the Eagles items I was potentially interested in, as well as a Springsteen he was considering making available.  I mean no disrespect to SD at all, but he appeared to have no idea how to price anything.  The gauge he was using, at least in part, was the amount of work, time and financial cost it took him to obtain the signature - placing higher value on things he worked harder to obtain.  I would assume that the motivation of a forger is entirely economic.  That doesn't fit here.  And to publicly display forgeries you created yourself?  Why would anyone do that?  My perception at this stage of the discussion is that we're beyond the notion that SD personally forged anything.

Guys.. who is saying "master forger"?  lol.

I'm pointing out the signatures that are suspicious, things that don't make sense and things that you wouldn't see in authentic signatures.  That doesn't mean Mr. Duncan is forging the items, it just means I don't believe the items to be authentic.  Like i said in an earlier post, it could be a matter of secretarial signatures or perhaps he purchased them from somewhere.. we don't know the full story yet.

If you have exemplars that refute the examples I have posted, then by all means contribute.  Your thoughts on Mr. Duncan being a good guy have already been noted.. lets talk about the autographs now.

Mike - note the last sentence of my reply to Bruce: "My perception at this stage of the discussion is that we're beyond the notion that SD personally forged anything."  I meant that the entire discussion appears to have moved off of this notion / suspicion.  My comments to Bruce were just to share an experience related to pricing.

Yes I understand, my reply was more to the both of you.  I'd like to move off the topic of Steiger and his accusations and onto the topic of discussing the actual autographs so we can get something out of it.

Agreed. It doesn't pass the common sense test.

QUEEN:  Brian May signature "News Of The World" LP:

To believe for a moment that these so called "Queen/Brian May Signature Experts" who also thought that the Brian May signature on my "News Of The World" LP was a fake, please look at the following first two signatures as both were signed the same night. Notice how the signed index card is almost a perfect match?

But for argument sake, lets assume that the LP and index card are inconclusive proof?

Look then further on the 3rd image, the photograph.  Look not only at the signature, but look at the inscription and the sentence.  Now, forgetting what the so called "experts" are wanting you to believe and trying so hard for you to believe, please use your own prudent judgment, not anyone else's propaganda, and you can see that all three signatures were signed by the same person at the same time, and is clearly Brian May's signature.

Some of you may wish to think twice as to how much faith you put in these "experts".

Your News of the World Brian signature does not match either of the other 2 examples you posted with it. In no comment that I've posted have I ever "tried" to get anyone to believe anything. I gave my opinion on what I know best. Queen. If my opinion doesn't show you in a flattering light, that's unfortunate. However, even after considering your last comment about the autograph, I still do not believe the signature to be genuine. Had you given photo proof of him holding and signing that item, I'd be willing to issue the apology you asked me for a few days ago. The B matched not a single genuine example I have in my files. The May also doesn't match what you're comparing it to. Even for a rushed autograph, I do not believe this item is genuine. Does that mean I think you signed it like you've tried to say I've said before? No. And for the record again, I never said you ever did forge anything.
I can only speak for myself, but I have no comments to delete. However, you have deleted comments you've made. For whatever reason. You've also responded back to me in a very defensive way from the start of this post when every comment I've made has been polite and respectful. Not sure why, and I'm sorry you feel upset that I do not believe this item is genuine, but I simply do not. I wish I did.
Stephen I don't get how you can say the top 2 match almost exactly. The B on the NOTW looks nothing like the B on the card. Even the line coming from the B on it is wrong. It goes under the B while the other 2 genuine looking pieces go through it. Not to mention the B is massive and spaced out while the other 2 are the correct shape for genuine Brian autographs. I don't get how he couldve signed a nice example for you at this party one second and the next second he handed you something that doesn't look real.

It has come to the point whereas these slanderous accusations and outright "you are this" and "you are that", must come to an end.

I believe in everyone's right to free speech, and opinions are fair to be expressed. I continue to have no problem with any opinions. I also, still believe that so much good and much to be learned from this thread has resulted and will continue to yield results that we all can benefit from. However, there are those on this thread and chat that have more than crossed the legal line of what is liable and slander to myself as an individual and a human being.

This entire thread has been archived and is in the hands of my families attorney.

This site and thread will again be archived this Thursday 12/10/2015 at 10:00am Pacific Coast time.  Those of you who may in any post, have posted in any way that may deemed to be slanderous or liable, in the opinion of my attorney, may want to delete your post by such time.

This thread will again be archived on Thursday 12/10/2015 at 10:00am Pacific Coast time.

With respect to that, I have been advised by my attorney to no longer partake in any way on this thread or this subject, on this site.  That however does not mean I will not continue to work with many of you off this site for the betterment of the concerns raised here.

What everyone needs to do is to understand how old some of these signatures are.  People on here are comparing Henley signatures that were signed in the last 4 months to ones that were signed pre-2000.  You are also comparing ones in a controlled environment to ones that were signed "on the streets".  Stephen and I are both in our early 50's and some of the people here are barely in their 30's and have absolutely no idea what the signing habits for these guys were pre- "Hell Freezes Over" tour in the mid 90's.  They were all pretty easy.  Henley did meet and greets in the early 2000's during his solo tour and would sign as many as you had, even guitars for a $100 meet and greet and that included a POSED photo with.  Felder would do golf tournys and was at NAMM many years in a row and would sign whatever you had.  The more he signed the sloppier they got.  The only thing I remember hearing him say was he would not write "Eagles" on things but he would put songs quotes.

I am only commenting on the Eagles stuff as I have no interest in this discussion nor do I have the time to go through his site but I know Stephen and we shared information for years getting Eagles autographs.

This "Lord of the Flies" mentality that goes on here on this site is appalling to me.  That is one of the many reasons I don't post here anymore.  Many here have made up their minds and nothing is going to change it so what's the point.  Cowards post under fake names and call people forgers and such and should be held accountable for their actions.

We have all made mistakes but this is beyond educational which is what this site was meant for.  Note to all the newbies out there, "open your minds and listen to your elders who have done this since the day you were born".  The behavior of the poster of this blog makes me sick to my stomach and all of the others that pile on without any knowledge makes me even sicker.  It would be foolish for Stephen to come on this site and explain himself to these closed minded individuals....
