Guys any thoughts on this one I think it looks good but it's so hard to judge unless it's concrete

Brass and copper are much more reactive than chrome plating.
Im sure it would be fine for a lifetime but after that who knows.
Chrome platters usually overhaul items every so often, acid washing dirt and any old chrome off and then plate them back up.
With copper cymbals usually you see green oxidation on them after a number of years.

Wonder if any of the Hohners are nickel?

Yes, but I imagine many styles and perhaps various finishes so likely model dependent. Now I am thinking of guitars, what do folks use to sign nitro?

Most of the vintage h.harps i just looked at were pitted slightly.

Jewelery, white gold you have to get platted every 12 months.

I imagine a thin natural wax paste finish might be good for some signed metal items.
