not. sorry

To All,

Thank you for the various messages which you sent in reply, and I apologise for not having posted a message before now.

Needless to say, I withdrew the Mercury item from the auction, and explained the views posted here to the vendor, which he accepted.

Yes, indeed, experts and authenticators in all fields, not just autographs, are only human and we've all made mistakes. It's identifying the dealers and auction houses that make innocent mistakes, and act correctly on them, compared to those who blatantly continue to peddle bad material that is the key.

Thanks again to you all.

All good wishes

IAA Ltd

Im glad to hear the item was successfully removed. That's a classy move and addressing it up front and directly like this speaks volumes, Richard. It's great to see honest sellers are still out there. I'd much rather see an auction house rep handle an issue like this vs getting defensive or ignoring the problem all together. Thanks.

taking that positive action and being honest like that will pay dividends in the end people have lost faith in a lot of auction houses that dabble in autographs especially in the UK there are 5 or 6 who regularly sell fakes every auction and that lowers the prices on their genuine items as it puts doubt in the bidders mind, the better ones will get the good prices i for one will add IAA to my Good list

it was unfortunate though for the seller as a RR auction buy is usually a solid bet
