I have been collecting Star Wars autographs since 1998.  Not all of my signatures are on Star Wars memorabilia.  For example, when I met Warwick Davis at a comic convention in New York City, I had him sign a Willow photograph.  I also have publicity photos of Sir Alec Guinness and Christopher Lee from the 1970s, and a Natalie Portman signed The Diary of Anne Frank theater poster from her performance on Broadway back in 1998.  My current wish list includes Peter Cushing, Terence Stamp and John Williams.  I am interested in knowing about the collections and wish lists of other members.

Thanks for the advice. I've reported them.

I've had this happen with several items of mine as well. I always message the seller on ebay and tell them I'm the owner of the original autographed item and I ask if they will stop selling it. Usually I get back some stupid response about them mistakenly posting that image or something like that. I've never had someone refuse to take it down, but I'm sure that'll happen sometime.

Pete has a really nice Scarlett autograph that has been plastered all over fakes on ebay.

So you have the exact photo? or they just copied your Boyega?  One of those Daisy's don't look real at all.

They copied my Boyega. It was on another picture.

Maybe I am a bit slow here, but how does someone take an autograph off one photo and apply it to a different photo? Sounds like a lot of effort for an under $10 item.

It would probably take less than a minute on photoshop, and they aren't just selling one of each of them. It adds up.

A year or so ago, I asked Steve Grad why he was selling or allowing people to sell reprints of some of his nicer items. Most of the images are being swiped off of websites and mass produced outside of the US. It happens.

I started using the lousy camera on my first generation Motorola Droid phone, when I want to show something. No more scans, and nothing high res.

What was his response?

He wasn't aware that it was even happening. If you zip thru Star Wars on ebay you will likely find some reprints inscribed to Steve. Which in and of itself is pretty stupid, not sure how many people named Steve are looking for Star Wars reprint autographs?

It certainly gave both of us pause about sharing nice high res images of nicer stuff.

Hi Mike,

I was wondering if you cloud give your opinion on this Hamill Autograph? It comes with a COA from someone called Michael Wehrmann

Thanks

It looks good. wehrmann's stuff is usually spot on. It that a Disney authenticated piece?

Looks pretty typical to me.  If it includes a Michael Wehrmann COA you can rest easy about it.
