My new Prince signed "Purple Rain" 12" Maxi Single from 1984

I had never seen these before. It's a 12-inch (album size) "Purple Rain" single on side 1 with "God" on side 2. The album is purple! These were released in 1984, I believe.

The cover is titled "Prince and the Revolution" and below that "Purple Rain". Prince signed it in purple, "Love Prince". I think both the "Love" and "Prince" look pretty good.

I have pics below.

I'm pretty excited. It's got the full Prince autograph, plus it's signed in purple on a "Purple Rain" 12-inch titled "Prince and the Revolution" from 1984.

It's even difficult to find examplars of Prince!
That's a good point, Paul. It kind of sucks, but we really have so few exemplars to go by.
I do understand everyone's concerns, especially the elongated "P". As for Prince signing "Love" without the "God", here is I'm pretty sure a legit example that he signed on the back of a concert stub to someone.

This ticket stub was from November of 1979.
The stub looks spot on.
Ya, I think that stub is a nice one. I bid on it but lost. I wasn't flush with cash then. Someone snagged that on open bidding for $772 I believe...what a steal. The stub was in great condition.
I like the stub, too.
The LP not so much...sorry about that.
There is too much money involved to not ask Roger imo.
Wish you good luck!
Thanks, A.B.
So here's a question. If I have Roger look at it, and he says no, I'm wondering if I can get a refund. The price was $1449. The seller took it down after I made a deposit of $749 through PayPal. She's letting me pay the remainder on July 3rd. She sounded like a nice older woman, but she said that since she had to take it off eBay, if I didn't pay the rest, there would be no refund of the $749. However, I did mark "Goods and Services" on PayPal. So if I challenged it, would PayPal still give me a refund if I noted the autograph was found to not be authentic?

Hi James,

That sounds potentially messy. Send to Roger asap IMO. What is $15...

Eric

Paypal rules state that you cant have the money and the item. So best bet is to try and rationalize with the person to get a refund first.
