Hello. First time poster.

I was looking for some opinions, on wether this signature is real or not. What are your opinions? This is supposedly made in 1981. Please let me know! Thank you.

This is not how he signed in 1981.

Real, IMO

Nigel, are there other photos?

It looks good.

Thanks for the reply People, Appearantly theres a Certificate of authenticity, made by Roger Epperson? Is this legit? (forgive my ignorance, iam new to all this).

I appreciate all comments thus far!

Roger Epperson is among the most respected music authenticators there is. As long as the certificate is genuine, it should be as that appears Rogers sig and it appears you got this from Conway's, this should be fine.

Just one question:  why did you think it was from 1981?

I agree...with Roger’s backing it’s very likely authentic, just not from the time period you stated.

Hello. Thank you for the replies. The reason I think Its from 1981, is because it states it on the website CVtreasures.com.

Ill quote it here;

Michael Jackson Autograph Signature
Acquired In-Person 1981

My encounter with Michael Jackson

On a hot Summer night in 1981 a friend and I were walking in downtown Providence, RI.  We stopped by the Biltmore Hotel and noticed a commotion by the elevators, mostly young girls screaming.   As the elevator was being blocked by security guards,  it started to go up and being a round glass elevator we could clearly see inside was Michael Jackson and what appeared to be some of his brothers from the Jackson 5.

Later that night, at a nearby club a couple sat next to us at the bar.   To make a long story short, the young man was part of the security detail for the Jackson 5 as they just completed their concert at the Providence Civic Center.    I bought them a couple drinks and as they got ready to leave he thanked me, reached into his top shirt pocket and pulled out a sheet of paper and said, "here take this, it's Michael Jackson's autograph, I got from him before we left him at his hotel room"..    Although  I started to collect vintage memorabilia in 1980 I hadn't acquired many autographs, so I put it away nearly 40 years ago and never thought about selling it.
Signed in bold black ink, "Michael Jackson".  . . Size of  paper sheet:  2.5x4.5"

* See enlargeable images above and below..  (Note: Photo not included , only for presentation. But they are easily available online).

NOTE: Be very cautious with Michael Jackson autographs  as most forgeries, especially on un-policed sites like eBay where forgeries are prolific.

After nearly 40 years collecting I have acquired and sold a number of Michael Jackson signed albums and photos, but I cant recall see many (or any) Signed slips of paper like this.
*Many collectors ONLY collect Signature cuts and sheets like this, as they have the option to mat and frame with their favorite photo or album.

NOTE:  Michael Jackson Authentic Autographs like Signed Albums and photos have skyrocketed over the past few years and continue to go up, most of them selling in the $2000-4000 range.   An exciting find and piece of history,  and solid investment !''

That story is very concerning. This is Jackson's signature in 1976. The signature on that sheet of paper is much much later...

And this is Jackson in 1988 - your was signed much later - that story is most unnerving.

This person on this website claims He got it in person tho, well from a bodyguard. So what should I be getting from this?

thank you

I would be getting a bad vibe from something. You have not purchased it yet? I would ask Roger Epperson what year he thinks it was signed in and add the link you just showed me.
