oh yes

This better be her memoir... I've been waiting for a minute on this one.

EDIT: Shows up on my order confirmation as:

Book of Lives: A Memoir of Sorts (Signed Book)
by Margaret Atwood
Hardcover

Also available in the U.K. (though the page isn't live yet) at https://www.resident-music.com/productdetails&product_id=123397 .

I'm almost never wrong when I make the call on these untitled books. 😀

...and you are much appreciated for it!

I typically don't buy from B&N, but this is an exception. I've rolled the dice and got lucky before on cheap signed MA books (U.S. editions) from Abebooks in the past, but this is a different story. Going to go for all three 1st printings (Can, U.S. and U.K.) for this title. $70 CAN shipped stings a bit, though.

I hear you.  If I buy from Indigo, Waterstones, etc. I at least try to buy more than 1 item to water down the unit cost for shipping-because it's not cheap.

Hopefully Blackwell's gets it because that'd save you quite a bit for shipping the UK version.

I'm not too bothered -- I've been fortunate in the past and saved on other U.S. printings.

I'm expecting this to be a bit of an event, however, considering she's been generally averse to writing her own memoir over the years (at least two other writers have written biographies about her with her cooperation, but she hasn't written one herself up to this point), which is borne out by the press releases that just dropped for this.

Speaking of, this is now live on Waterstones, but it's currently "restricted" to Plus account holders with a one-per-account limit. It's free sign-up, but it looks like they're expecting an influx of buyers on this one. Will update if I see an Indigo listing.

Canadian (M&S) edition arrived this morning -- a DHL driver dropped it off at 3 AM at my place; turns out Canada Post is still SOL for ensuring any kind of consistent service.

II've got a flood of MA books coming in; the other 2 regional releases for this memoir (which I flipped through briefly before I left for work; a stellar release, as always), the 20th ann. edition of The Penelopiad, the U.S. 1st ed. of Old Babes in the Wood and the titles she signed for me back in May in Windsor (which included another 1st ed. printing of Handmaid M&S 1st ed.).

Still have a couple more to order by the end of the year, including the Waterstones exclusive editions of this memoir (which has alternate endpages and a page with a pre-printed letter from her) and Handmaid -- I recently purchased a set of signed bookplates from her, and will be using two of them to paste into these two titles.

I should be closing in on 150 signed items from her. Will see how close I get by the end of the year. I'm also thinking of doing a photoshoot for my signed Handmaid collection at some point.
