Experience is just experience. Trust is a direct animal to me. That has to be earned on a case by case basis I guess.

Watching mr Roger's the Simpsons and barney the dinosaur

I'll tell you what, Paul;  you can follow and Stephen Rocchi and Drew Max...okay.

Thanks Chris or you can follow Grad or anyone else you choose!

Im not familiar with this story so one guy working for an auction house employed to spot fakes and authenticate signatures didnt realise another guy working there was selling fakes

I’ve retracted my statement concerning Bill Mastro producing fake autographs because I haven’t been able to find anything to corroborate this. I thought that sometime back I had read a story regarding Mastro producing fakes and then selling them in his auction house, but perhaps, as Roger Clemens might say, I must have “misremembered” that.

As Steve said above, Mastro went to jail for shill bidding.  He also apparently trimmed the famous Honus Wagner baseball card that was graded a PSA 8 and was sold at one time to Wayne Gretzky.  But I haven’t found anything regarding fake autographs.  Mea Culpa.

And yes, Steve Grad’s association with Mastro does not make Steve Grad a bad guy.  I don’t believe in guilty by association alone.  Though Grad, like all of us, doesn’t always get it right, I believe he is for the most part a reputable authenticator.

FWIW I know a guy who worked for Bill Mastro for ten years.

The guy is still "in the business".

I consider him to be a man of integrity.

He's not perfect (and boy have I told him so on occasion) but he is not dishonest.

And although he worked beside a known felon for a decade IMO there is no guilt by association tarring him.

He escaped from that Mastro boiler room unscathed - IMO deservedly so & has landed on his feet.

Theres a big cnbc story about mastro shill bidding and selling know fakes. Including I believe elvis hair and other crap and I think trimmed cards. I used to deal with them way back then and in storage I'm sure I have old catalogs

Pawn stars should get Chum to authenticate the graphs if the shows still running!

You are very dopey Faul PERIOD

I agree strongly with Rick. As usual here, observation is key.

the thing that irks me about grad is this. he has no problem poking fun at psa/dna or jsa when they pass a questionable item. But when Steve is asked about bad signatures that he passed, he'll just avoid the question and the person who questioned steve about that bad piece will be banned from the facebook group. steve's ego needs a reality check.  Steve recently made a wise crack to mark hamill on his twitter feed and Mark's reply put steve in his place. then steve spent the rest of the night trying to kiss mark's ass and tweeting nice things about him. it doesn't surprise me to hear horror stories about him. he's a d***** bag who let his pawn star fame go to his head
