WHo is best for Certification and Auction of Mailyn Monroe Autographs

I was smart when younger to buy some Marilyn Monroe Checks.

Now, retired and old, I want to ensure my wife and family are protected.

So I need to determine (1)- do I need the checks Authenticated and (2) - Who is

the best and "fairest" auction house.  I do not want to do Ebay.  Most

Auction houses don't tell you their "selling percent" online, but say they are the

best.  Yes, I am selfish right now as this is part of my estate planning. So, I hope

I can get some advice from fellow collectors/sellers on those 2 subjects.

Thanks for any ideas.

These look fine to me. I have forwarded this thread to our resident Monroe expert, Pauline B.

RRAuction might be a good auction outlet to sell these. Their stuff usually brings top dollar BUT you have to pay like a 15-20% commission (can’t remember what it is now) off the pre-premium price. They add a 25% buyers premium just for buyers and the auction house gets this entirely. I think right now Marilyn Monroe checks bring over $5000 (so before premium that’s like $3700) and if commission is 15% then you get $3,137.50. If that’s enough then RRAuction may be the way to go.

Also I recommend you sell ONE at a time to get the maximum price. Having three on at once creates less demand and less bidding.

Nice checks!!

I believe Beckett is an excellent auction and authenticity house for Monroe and others. Very stringent.

Great looking cheques.

Thanks Pauline! :-)

If you're going to have them authenticated please go for a letter or encapsulation, rather than one of those horrendous stickers.

+1 I hate those freeloading red white and blue advertising billboards. They are nothing but damage. I avoid them like the plague. I never buy, sell or suggest things marred in this manner.

For vintage entertainment I recommend RR Auction for strong results. www.rrauction.com You would not need to get them certified in advance. They would be prescreened by PSA at RR at no cost to you.

In full disclosure, I am a consultant (space autographs) for RR Auction. If you are interested in RR, send me a private message and I can give you the email of the person to chat with.

That would be great.
