Bruce Springsteen signed guitar at Auction Kings

Hi everybody,

Just saw Auction Kings at Discovery Channel where a signed "The Boss" guitar showed up.... I think it looks fake, but the auctioneer thought it looked authentic and sold it for $1200.. What do you think??

Not funny to the poor bidder, though, is it? The auction house said the stand behind what they sell. Maybe someone should let them know.

to me it also looked like he compared it to another fake signed guitar when he was comparing to find out  if it was real or not....  not good at all..

If you stop the video at 3:25 you'll see the certification.  Looks to be from Elite Productions and Legacy Collection.

I remember seeing this episode when it first aired a few months back.  I even woke my wife up to show her the guitar and tell he the signature was bad.

These sellers may intend to do their due diligence, but they are in way over their heads. A novice scanning ebay to make a determination doesn't cut it.

Wow, what an embarassment, and it sure doesn't say much about the way they run their business.  I have only the most basic familiarity with Springsteen's signature, but I wouldn't give that garbage a second look.  

Fake signature aside, I think I can soundly say that I hate this show, from the incompetence and lack of scrutiny to the moronic cattle auctioneer.

The same woman who bought the Springsteen guitar also "walked away" with 3 others.  My guess is she lucked out with a signed Hendrix, Doors, and Full Beatles guitar that were as "real" as the Springsteen!
