Hi. I really respect the opinions of the members here and I was wondering what people thought of this Mantle Ball. It's a Bobby Brown RO-A.  I personally watched Mickey sign this while I was in the dugout at Old Timer's Day.  Just kidding, I bought this at auction many years ago and I just hope it's legit.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Chris

Here are 5 from my collection. There is 1-JSA, 1-PSA, & 1-UDA among them. After further review, the play stands as called on the field!!!!!! The ball that Chris is asking about does NOT resemble any of them...AND YES, I'm Sure!!!!!

Damn those are cherry !!!!!!!...WOW Fud !!!!

Here is a side by side comparison...the top ball in question and mine on the bottom...you can see the difference in the fluidity itself...and the flow and pressure points...

It's really hard to describe, but the authentic Mantles have a "bouncy-ness" and looseness to them. When you put them side by side with a suspect item, the suspect item usually looks "tighter."

CEE here is mine to compare, also.

After looking through all the posts I concur this is not authentic.  I feel better knowing what I have is fake. What you won't find is me now trying to sell it on eBay!  I really appreciate the help and opinions.  Now it's time to find a good one. Thanks again. Chris

One of the other standouts is the first hump in the M.  It doesn't go down nearly as far as it should, very noticeable when making a comparison to those we know or sure are good.

Fuddjcal, who authenticated the 3rd one from th top?

I'm curious, Anthony, are you questioning the authenticity of that particular Mantle signed baseball?

All of the Mantle signed baseballs that Fudd posted are all 100% authentic.

The ball Anthony's asking about has a rough "k" and "y" and in general isn't as nicely signed as the other four. It's good but I see why he's questioning it. That's the beauty of having all these great members here happy share knowledge and debate.

I'm curious also.

The only reason I question it is because the mick was well aware and probably never handed a fan an ugly baseball, to him it was like a canvas and he was the artist so I could see him throwing away a mistake rather than handing it to anyone.

I suppose anything is possible though.

I have to admit though I understand a lot about autographs but it seems one o the sigs that I study the most I am wrong about , Babe Ruth, the Mick, Lou Gehrig and John Elway are my favorites however, John Elway I have a hard time understanding his consistancy . . . .

It is not my intention to offend anyone, there is always more to learn and it seems I learned something the last day or two .

I am just a glutton to learn about this passion.

Honestly I would have bought that Mick without a C.O.A. though
