Hi Josh,

I'm glad you found us. I just looked at the Mickey Mantle. Don't go by my opinion alone, but I don't think it's genuine.

Thank you very much for your opion, what clues give it away as a fake?

I've learned a lot from other members of this site who know much more than I do. Here's a great discussion with hundreds of examples of good and bad Mantles.

Here's a Mantle ball similar to yours, with opinions from members who know what they're looking at:

Walk away from this certain Mantle forgery. After that, the rest are a moot point.

BTW, forgers use 94 WS balls because they're available and technically could have been signed by Mantle. They are almost never real. Think about it, why would anyone have the real Mick sign a 94 WS ball? It doesn't even make sense.

So your 100% ? thank you for saving me LOL

Yes, 100% bad... Known forgery style. You're welcome. :-)

Zippy is one of the members I've learned from.

For me, the Frank Robinson was the dead give away. Frank does not, and has not, written that clearly in a very long time. All the Frank Robinson autos I have seen over the past 20 years or so, have been real tight and almost scribbly looking.

this is the fake 500 hr style that has been floating around for years.  the Killebrew is the giveaway.  and yes, the Mantle also.

Yes Josh...this ball unfortunately is all signed by ONE hand...as My pal Zipper states...it makes no sense for this type of ball to be used...

That is a typical Mantle forgery.  Just horrific!!!
