Here is an interesting Kurt Cobain autograph with the inscription " God Is Gay" that is being offer for sale on the bay. It has been authenticated by JSA.

I like it but this is offer by the same seller who had sold a similar Kurt Cobain autograph with the same inscription that was signed on a notepad back in November 2012. Carl Ryan posted the discussion. Here is a picture of the autograph.

What are the chances that you get your hands on 2 rare similar autographs with 2 similar inscriptions???

The auction is up to $1825.00 with 3 more days to go.

Would love this piece if I could afford it haha.

I would say the chances are slim for someone to get their hands on both of these. It does not look like the same person signed both of these.

This is very strange indeed to me as J pointed out. There seems likes something is amiss here. As J and others pointed out, what are the odds that Cobain signed 2 pieces like this, with the same quotes, for the same person. The JSA one looks fairly good to me, but i just dont see Cobain writing that same quote repeatedly. Maybe the JSA one served as a template for the one talked about in previous threads. But i just dont know. I am going to try and research this a little more and see where i get.

But personally, i would not buy either one

When it comes to Cobain, just because it says JSA doesn't make it real. Can JSAtell  us how they know it is real? There would need to be more than just a JSA cert on it. Some things I trust them for, not Cobain. Its just WAY too easy to forge. I'd never buy a cobain unless it came with a good history. There have been a few on ebay with good history, like the signed Guitar with a picture of kurt signing it.

What auction is it listed on?

Hi James!

Do you have the pictures of the signed guitar and Kurt signing it?? I would love to see it. Thanks

I do actually. I made sure to save them because it was so cool. They are on an external hard drive. I'll see if I can find them. I remember he wanted $20K and slowly lowered it down to $10K and there were no takers. I forget what happened after that.  This auction was about 3-4 years ago I want to say.

I don't like either of them.

Here is the seller's reply when I asked about the provenance of this piece:

I don't have a letter of providence but will be easy to get as this was personally signed for my uncles friend. My uncle and his friend both had Kurt sign for them in Dallas. The weekend they were there, Nirvana played. They weren't there for Nirvana so they didn't attend the concert but was lucky enough to meet Kurt. I traded a firearm for this as I'm into selling autos. Please if you decide to win this, I will personally have him write a providence letter for this with the whole story. I'm sure he wouldnt mind talk to you over the phone about it either. This map is what he had in the car at the time and he just grabbed it. My uncle had his notepad signed.

Interesting. Maybe. Maybe not. If I understand it correctly the only time Nirvana was in Dallas was Oct 19, 1991......Nevermind was out Sept 24th. Would this Uncle (who wasn't even there to see the band) really have known who Kurt was at that point?

Yep and he did have a ridiculous story to explain how he got it.  I spotted that beatles one last week when I was looking at the previous items this seller had sold with the story that he was given  a genuine beatles sig for mowing  a neighbour's lawn .  It could be true but....

Also    would someone just give away something that valuable & more crucially should our intrepid seller not have explained it was far too expensive to be given as a gift for mowing the lawn?!!

But lets hope this Kurt one is genuine because the poor buyer has spent a lot of  dollars on it
