Ebay Seller Bthoven14 Roger Maris Autographed Baseball Ugly Forgery

Check out his ugly Roger Maris forgery on a baseball found on Ebay.

The below putrid-looking Roger Maris forgery on a baseball is listed by Ebay seller Bthoven14.

Ebay seller Bthoven14 writes "Will guarantee the signature to be authentic and pass any respected third-party authentication service."

Seriously?

Both PSA and JSA will deem the below "Roger Maris" autograph "Not Authentic" in a millisecond.

This is one ugly Roger Maris forgery on a baseball listed by Ebay seller Bthoven14.

This Musial is probably a fake too

I don't really like this Musial.  I would not buy it.  I would go for a lot better example.  A few things bother me with this.  Only IMO.    The skip in the N and the al are two things I don't like.

But this is probably good.

Surprise: Mantle is also among the forgery

I would need to see  better image but the mantle in my opinion is not all that bad.

I agree with Tony, the Mantle could be authentic

The Mantle is not a forgery IMO.  Looks good to me.

interesting that one bidder is bidding on all of this seller's items, and his percentage of bids with this seller is 82%.......coincidence???

hello everyone,

my name is bob mccann and i am the seller bthoven14 on ebay that i guess some of you are criticizing and/or taking shots at. i can assure you i have done nothing wrong here. i sell all kinds of memorabilia and was contacted by a family who had a number of autographed baseballs and photos to sell that their father had traveled around to shows, mostly in the 1980's, to procure. as i stated in ALL of my descriptions, if anyone was unhappy or not satisfied with any items they were welcome to return them. i do  not understand what more i can do? i CERTAINLY did not create any of these items and it is a shame that a number of you out there attack them with such venom. i am not trying to do anything wrong here. thank you for your time. take care, bob

HELLO AGAIN,

ONE LAST THING........I NOW SEE THAT SOMEONE IS IMPLYING THAT I AM BIDDING ON MY OWN ITEMS??? THAT IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! WHY ON EARTH WOULD I? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I WOULD STAND TO LOSE OR THE CONSEQUENCES WOULD BE AS FAR AS EBAY WAS CONCERNED??? This is all very sad. I'm sorry to be the cause of so much "trouble".... i ASSURE you, not bidding on my own items. take care

Bob,

that was not the implication at all.  It is just interesting that the Maris ball, which is an obvious forgery, had so many bids, so I looked into the bidders and saw that a high percentage of this bidders "bids" were on your items.  I am not implicating that you are bidding on your own items, but the math is a little strange.

hello there,

no problem, i understand. i always shudder also when i see bids by people with low feedback but if they haven't done anything wrong i allow them. take care and have a great evening. thank you for responding, bob

Mr. Mccann, the "Roger Maris" you have listed on Ebay is a forgery.  Plain and simple.

I will continue to expose this garbage for as long as it takes.  This garbage continues to infect our autograph hobby.

You ask "What more can I do?"  You can cancel your auction and submit to PSA or JSA.   An authentic and bold Roger Maris autograph on a baseball can sell for well over $3,000.

Do the right thing.

hello,

the listing has ended. again, as i stated, i never had any intention of doing anything wrong here. truthfully, i had no idea a Maris ball could even be that expensive. i thought maybe $700. question, what makes you think it is a forgery simply by looking at the picture? i would appreciate your input and explanation. take care, bob
